by Scott Weinberg | October 05, 2006
Discuss Article
A few weeks back I saw that "300" promotional clip, and it pretty much blew me away. Now comes WB's first official trailer for the Zack Snyder/Frank Miller collaboration -- and let's just say I cannot WAIT for March 9th already! Click here for images from the trailer flipbook!

Check out the trailer right here ... and turn up your speaker volume.

Official synopsis: "Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite."

Seriously, I can't wait.

I can safely say that there is no possible way this movie can disappoint. None at all. One question, though. If this is already rated, that means it's finished, right? Why are we waiting another 5 months to see it? Dammit!

I agree wholeheartedly. The overall look of the film, well, looks amazing.

Maybe it is all about timing, because february would be too early as well as January...I don't know what I'm saying, 5 months (dang)

Probably to build up the hype. It'll be worth it though.

Or they know it can't play with the big boys of the holiday season. It is already rated because I think that was a no-brainer.

Because of the music that I heard on this trailer, I will not be seeing this film. That crap music does not fit in.

My lord, now they just need Miller to help produce the Batman movies and we'll be golden.

I thought the promo clip was awesome. Holy moly! Forget about Spidey 3, Shrek 3, and Pirates 3, I'm most looking forward to this film next year.

Admitedly, I wasn't a fan of the graphic novel. I thought the writing was pedestrian at best, juvenile at worst. I didn't think the art was on par with Miller's usually high-standard work either.

. . . but that being said, holy cow in a bucket WAS THAT a sweet trailer!

It's official: Move over Spidey, this is my new most-anticipated film to see next year.

WRONG!

NIN- "Just like you imagined" fits it perfectly!

If you understand NIN then you'll get it! NIN is about the primal instincts the real nature of man, the real reason mankind is what we are and why we do the things we do. Which is for survival. Now tell me how that is not fitting of a movie about 300 Spartans fighting for their lives, their survival?

NIN is the meaning of life man! If you don't listen to them, then you're already dead!

/end sarcasm

I just love the amount of enthusiasm some people give their favorite things, like if their infinite knowledge and wisdom decrees something then how can any sane human disagree with it.

Anyway...

This movie is gonna rock. Anyone already ripping on it is trying to get attention or has a stick in their ass.

The music is about all that fits -- The muted colors wouldn't be half as annoying if it weren't for the horrible acting in the trailer.... Raaaaarrrrr! Raaaaarrr Growl. Growl... and the bad CGI doesn't help... Raaaaarrrr! Oh wait, I don't think I've yelled enough...

Ummmm Bane, it's awfully bold to try and judge an entire's movie acting in the span of one 2 and a half minute trailer. 300 looks unbelievable and for sure is one of my most anticipated movies of 2007.
