E.L. Doctorow's "Jolene" Nabs Sutherland, Richards, Mulroney and Vartan
Summary
Director Dan Ireland ("Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont," "The Whole Wide World") has added four new castmembers to "Jolene," and who better to pop up in a teenage girl's decade-long, cross-country search for happiness than Donald Sutherland, Denise Richards, Dermot Mulroney and (sigh) Michael Vartan? fizzypulp writes: on Oct 10 2006 03:02 AM He isnt that bad - i dont personally think he has ever been given enough chance to shine. Bit like Ed Burns, they arent given the scripts so they dont get the airtime and so people dont have a high opinion of them! (Reply to this) |

Ed burns only stars in films he directs because other people wont give him a chance - he is ina viscious circle! (Reply to this) |

He's steaming hot and it's about time we get to see him in a more substantial role! I think he's also a good actor if given more screen time, and a good script to show his acting ability. sugarush writes: on Oct 14 2006 02:50 PM Yes, Dan Ireland is a great director and I'm looking forward to see his movie. I've read the book, and Jolene is a great story. I don't know if you have read the movie critics reviews regarding Michael Vartan's acting, but they were all very good/positive reviews. It's sad that he happened to be in some very bad movies, with horrible plots and dumb scripts. For example, I especially wanted to poke my eyes out after watching Sand. He was stuck in these stupid flops that has nothing to do with his acting ability. I mean if you read the reviews here for Sand, you would see that the critics thought his acting was the only one that was good but with a supporting role, and little screen time, there was nothing Michael could have done to save those terrible movies from going over the cliff. Anyway, I'm looking forward to see him working with a good director, and given a chance to show his diversity as an actor :) It's sooooo about time! (Reply to this) |
