Frank Darabont and Stephen King (Finally) Get Mist-y
Summary
It's a project that's been on Frank Darabont's back burner for what seems like ten years, but not any more: The director of "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile" will helm an adaptation of Stephen King's "The Mist" for the Weinstein brothers. Already I can't wait. Back to Article

on Oct 20 2006 06:16 AM It's nothing like Silent Hill, either. Totally different vibe. As long as they don't mess up the trailers, I think people will get the difference. I've always been against a Dark Tower adaptation, because 90% of King's stories are terrible on screen. But if it was done as a high-budget series a la Deadwood.... well, I'd probably subscribe to HBO. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Oct 20 2006 09:46 AM The only way that you can really comment on anything having to do with Stephen King, is if you have read all of his books...The Fog isn't even remotely similar to The Mist and it doesn't even comapre to Silent Hill...and if it turns out that that any of them are similar than it is because they copied it from Stephen King :) I am excited about there being another great movie direct by Frank Darbont, he is excellent in all that he does and he really does justice to King's books. :):) Can't wait!! later yall (Reply to this) |

on Oct 20 2006 12:39 PM Its in Skeleton Crew its the first story,'bout 120 pages long if memeory serves......and to whomever compared it to silent hill,no.It takes place in a supermarket(for the most part),involves many people, and no japaniese inspired villain.Since reading it as a kid(my mom snuck me a copy)Ive always felt it was one of the few king novel(la)s ready to go to the big screen.
