"Constantine 2" in the Works With Different Director
by Fred Topel | November 20, 2006
Blog Article | Discuss Article
"Constantine" was one of the better reviewed comic book movies in the beginning of 2005, but a sequel was not immediately green lit. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner assures fans that one is definitely in the works.

"Yes, with Keanu," she said. "We have been working with a team of writers to come up with a story and yes, we will."

Shuler Donner hopes "Constantine 2" will push the limits of spiritual action even further. "It's going to be a hard R. We're going to go for it this time. The area that we found, it's very scary. It's good."

"Constantine 2" won't return John Constantine to the comic book's London setting, but he will get out of L.A. "Another country though. It's outside of America."

Francis Lawrence will not be available to direct "Constantine 2," but Shuler Donner is keeping him involved. "Different director but Francis will produce it. We will try to maintain his vision."

For the sequel they should go straight to the Hellbrazer comic series and bring The Sandman into it.

instead of doing another constantine, he should redo the matrix 2 and 3, while he is still barely young enough.

if you want the movie to tank call it Constantine 2. Worst idea ever. Just make it and pretend the first movie never happened. Not that the first movie was bad but you would really limit the audience by calling it Constantine 2. They make James Bonds movies again and again and they don't have numbers in the titles.

the title is not constantine 2...obviously...they dont have a script yet so they need to referr to it as a sequel, and the easiest way is to say 2...

exactly. idiot. Even the James Bond flicks are called Bond20 or Bond 21 when they know that a film will be made but they don't have a script yet.

Constantine wasn't bad at all. I enjoyed it a lot actually. So this could be alright.

its a sequel. many sequels are numbered so it is likely that the number 2, II will be used but I don't think thats a good idea. The movie is mediocre at best and those who think otherwise are delusional. and to Linobrocka. I fucked your sister.
