Trailer Bulletin: "The Hitcher"
by Scott Weinberg | November 24, 2006
Discuss Article
Complain all you want (and I've been doing it a lot), but early next year there WILL be a remake of "The Hitcher." And now there's a trailer to prove it.

Click here to check out the trailer at MSN.

Starring Zachary Knighton, Sophia Bush, and Sean Bean as the hitchhiker who made Rutger Hauer a semi-household name, the new-fangled "The Hitcher" opens on January 19th. Whether you like it or not.

Are there no new ideas? None? Comeon creatives think, there must be scary stories that haven't already been told. Stop the madness, NO MORE REMAKES!!

Ok, is it like the same person that keeps saying "now i'm on the verge of tears" or something? I mean, the past couple days, someone says that everytime on here. So, if it's the same person, think of something new to say, and, if it isn't, think of your own thing to say. Now, onto the subject...the original Hitcher is one of the most overrated "underrated" films ever. What I mean is, it's not as big as Lord of the Rings, not nearly...but, yet, people seem to think it's the shiznik. I didn't care hardly any for it, so, I have no problem with a remake.

why is sean bean smiliing?
I don't think Rutger smiled at all during the 1st hitcher. he may have smirked, but it wasn't a toothy grin like Bean. Also, Hitcher wasn't really Horror, was it? I get the impression this is more horror than the 1st.

Sean Bean rules
Sean Bean seems to be great as the hitcher in the trailer. He knows how to play an interesting villain like in Goldeneye (best bond villain).

remakes
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! this is crap. this will be the teeny bopper version of the hitcher. i bet that they will not tear the girl apart into four pieces like the original. they will come up with some crappy ending instead. i hate this so much.

oo a january horror release! this just screams grade A material.

Let me think.
White Noise - January
When A Stranger Calls - Early February
Underworld 2 - January
Bloodrayne - January

Looks like this time of the year all the best (so called) horror movies come out to play.

I can't wait! ........ Not.

Sean Bean looks cool, but what would've been better was if they got C. Thomas Howell to do the part. PG-13 remakes are just money vacuums for Corporate Hollywood.

Sophia Bush looks like a young Jennifer Connelly.

The original is a HORRIBLE movie, so bad I couldn't even manage to laugh while viewing. I'm sure the remake will be better...but that isn't a difficult feat.
