Nicole Kidman Tops List of Richest Female Actors
by Scott Weinberg | December 01, 2006

There's just something about knowing who makes the most Hollywood money that's so darn interesting. And even though I don't really CARE how much cash Nicole Kidman makes per flick, that didn't stop me from reading through the whole list pretty quickly...

I'll list the actresses and their (approximate) per-movie paycheck, but for the reasons WHY they make so much coin, check out this article at The Hollywood Reporter.

Nicole Kidman -- $16-$17 million per movie
Reese Witherspoon -- $15m
Renee Zellweger -- $15m
Drew Barrymore -- $15m
Cameron Diaz -- $15m
Halle Berry -- $14m
Charlize Theron -- $10m
Angelina Jolie -- $10m
Kirsten Dunst -- $8m - $10m
Jennifer Aniston -- $8m

Somwhere, Lucy Liu is pretty annoyed.

too much
from this list the only ones that make sense to me are:

drew barrymore and maybe jolie and reese

since those are the only actrecces that somehow earn back the investment.
the others are quite expensive. 15 mln means that a movie has to make double that to cover for the actres which is frankly a lot for a female lead. i'm trying not to be prejudice against women in movies but the fact is that men seem to be bigger boxoffice draws (especially in the usa).

Outside the usa jennifer, nicole, cameron and angelina are the only big names on the list that can drwa a large crowd. if you look at th eprices i believe anything above 10 mln is too much. only julia roberts is worth much much more.

I'd think Berry was number one.

Number one is a no-brainer. I'm kind of surprised, though, to see that number three is also the ugliest (by far).

Nicole so deserves this. Sure she's had a couple duds recently but she's one of the most talented actors (male or female) out there today.

someone actually pays Kirsten Dunst 8 mil to take the massive dumps she calls her acting chops? brilliant, next you'll be telling me that Jennifer Aniston gets paid 8 mil to abort scripts on a daily basis... oh wait *slits throat*

KIDMAN? MISS FLOP WOMAN, first ?????
It's so weird. Because Kidman is the best pay actress in Hollywood! LOL Someone metionned Murdoch manipulation...hum, he is her friend of course

Thank you for Nikki Finke! best movies site ! she's got THE tongue! (see later on post)

Here is the incomprehension (think Fur her last movie is a piece of **** rottentomatoes 15% good!!! and it is again, a flop, think Stepford wives awful movie and flop, same with Bewitched, for which she won a deserved razzie for worst actress)
Nikki Finke from DeadlineHollywood sum it up perfectly:

"Nicole Kidman, $16 mil-$17 mil. What she should be earning: -$1 mil. That's right, I'm saying that Nicole should be paying film companies to hire her, not the other way around. That's because she's poison at the box office, the female equivalent of Sean Penn. Women dislike her, men don't think she's sexy, and those Chanel ads induce nausea. My guess is this price for Nicole dates back to Sony overpaying her for that bomb Bewitched. Since then, she's been doing smaller films, but is signing for studio projects right now. Note to majors: save your $$$ and hire Reese or Angelina."
