Tim Olyphant Replaces Diesel's "Hitman"
by Scott Weinberg | December 11, 2006
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Summary

For a while there it looked like Vin Diesel was going to star in Fox's big-screen version of the "Hitman" video game ... but now it looks like "Deadwood" star Timothy Olyphant (who stole most of "The Girl Next Door") has earned that assignment. Back to Article

Sweet!!
I think Olyphant has the right amount of deviousness to play this role with vigor. I never thought Vin was right for the role.

...yeah, but Vin is bald. you see, the cartoonman on the box is bald. and Vin is bald. it makes perfect casting sense. I'm sure any Hollywood executive would agree

WAAAAY better choice than Diesel.

Although I still think Olyphant would make a sweet Max Payne.

Although you're being sarcastic, don't forget that the same logic that you're currently deriding also determined who played Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men movies. Anyways, the only thing about this that interests me is that a video game is being made into a movie without any involvement from Uwe Boll (thank God).

Not entirely... otherwise Vin would've been Prof X too.

omg can you imagine Vin Deisel as Professor X? ill give you a minute...

anyway, i think Vin would have ruined Hitman. 47 isn't a tounge in cheek muscle bound badass. he is a calm, visceral, killer with an almost vampiric demeanor.

Wow, great call man. Never thought of that, he would be a perfect Max Payne.

Yeah i have to agree to, hed be WAY better as Max Payne, at least the first games Max Payne, before he mysteriously aged 20 years.

Besides, they already have someone better who could play 47, the guy who happens to voice 47 AND was the character model for 47. But who needs perfect casting?

Still though, better than diesel.

Crap, it just hit me, Max Payne was also originally based on a real persons likeness. Nevermind then....
