Rob Zombie's "Halloween" Cast is Shaping Up!
First came word that a newcomer called Daeg Faerch would be playing the young Michael Meyers in Rob Zombie's "Halloween." Then we learned that Malcolm McDowell would be stepping into the role of Dr. Loomis -- aka the raving doctor who chases Mike all over the place. And now we know who'll be playing the big killer himself.
The actor's name is Tyler Mane, and you most likely know the guy if you've seen "X-Men," "Troy" or "The Devil's Rejects."
Zombie's version of "Halloween" opens in ... August.

on Dec 26 2006 05:27 AM Mcdowell is an interesting choice. Sabertooth should be pretty good. He has the walk for the part. (Reply to this) |

on Dec 26 2006 03:13 PM yeah i think mcdowell is a good choice as well, but i mean who really cares about who is under the mask for michael myers? name one person who played him. honestly. i mean kane hoddar is a different story as was gunnar hanson. i mean the character was portrayed by a different guy in every film. thomas of the living dead (Reply to this) |

on Dec 26 2006 07:53 PM In reply to this comment (#851669) you mean besides Tommy Lee Wallace, Dick Warlock, George Wilbur (twice), Donald Shanks, Chris Durand, and Brad Loree? heck, even John Carpenter played Michael briefly in the first film. but i get what you're saying, no one behind the mask has been a big-name (well, aside from Carpenter, but he doesn't count). i'm just concerned that Mane is too big of a guy to play Michael. Michael's not some muscle-bound weightlifter, Mane's a former pro-wrestler after all. but i guess it could be worse, they could have cast Kane Hodder! (Reply to this) |

on Dec 26 2006 08:07 PM Im more stuck on the fact that it opens in august. if they opened aroud Halloween and Rob actually does a good job like i hope he will do, then this movie would kill Saw 4. besides, it wouldn't matter the actor, just the body type is important, because Mike Myers shouldn't speak. at least in my opinion. on Dec 27 2006 11:21 AM In reply to this comment (#851671) i don't know where Scott heard that it was being released in August, i thought the release date was announced to be October 19th, 2007. straight from Rob Zombie's very own Myspace blog: "Well gang, the official release date for HALLOWEEN is OCT. 19, 2007. Let the count down begin." UPDATE: well i saw the teaser trailer on bloodydisgusting.com, and it says "Summer 2007," so the release date was probably set for Oct. 19, but the studio probably pressured him to have it released in the summer like the last two Halloween films were. why Dimension doesn't want to release a Halloween movie around frickin' Halloween is beyond me, Halloween Resurrection only made like $10 million opening weekend. i know, they'd have Saw 4 to contend with by going with a late October release, but the Oct. 19 release date would give the Halloween fans the chance to see it before Saw, and it gives everyone else the choice between Halloween and Saw once Saw is released on the weekend before Halloween. so by going with Oct. 19th, you'd have two potentially big weekends for Rob's Halloween to do big business, but releasing it in August gives you one big weekend and it risks getting lost in the summer movie shuffle. on Dec 27 2006 02:25 PM In reply to this comment (#851670) i forgot that he played sabretooth. but yean kane hoddar should NOT be myers. i think zombie should reconsider and look for like a lanky unknown guy. but glad to know that wasn't a slam on me there. it will still be a unique film reguardless. how long do you see michael w/out the mask really? totld (Reply to this) |
