Kiefer Spills Some Cool Beans on the "24" Movie
It's been about half a year since we got all excited when Fox announced their big-screen "24" adventure ... but obviously a project like this is going to take a good while to get rolling. But Kiefer Sutherland recently chatted with About.com, and he divulged some fairly interesting insights.
According to IGN Movies, Kiefer believes that the 2-hour movie will represent a 24-hour block of time ... which means we won't be working in true "real-time" like we do with the "24" TV show or that "Nick of Time" flick with Johnny Depp.
The former "Young Gun" also believes that the movie will take place outside the ongoing televised adventures, which is a trick I'm really curious to see.
The "24" movie might take a while to get rolling, but hey, the new season starts next week!

on Jan 10 2007 09:45 AM Look, I'm a 24 fan as much as anyone else, but how are people excited about a '24' movie? If they're gonna abandon the concept, that really defeats the purpose. Besides, I'm pretty sure a '24' movie already came out, except they made a mistake and put "The Sentinel" on all the posters. (Reply to this) |

It's the show's hook. It's what makes you sit up and pay attention, initially. But, it's not at all what makes the show compelling to watch. For that, look to the characters and the story, both of which could be nicely put into a 2-hour (or more) movie with no great loss. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 11 2007 11:56 AM It seems to me that the obvious solution here is to call the movie 2.4 and use it to tell a 2.4 hour story about Jack Baur that is on par or better with the standard 24 hour story. Could be done... could work nicely... (Reply to this) |
