"Spider-Man 3" Final Show Down Spoilers
by Jeff Giles | January 18, 2007
Discuss Article
Spoilerphobes be warned: Dark Horizons has posted a fairly detailed breakdown of what will be -- according to FilmIck -- the climactic battle in "Spider-Man 3."

The third installment of the "Spider-Man" series, hitting theaters May 4, is already known to include fan-fave villains Sandman (played by Thomas Haden Church) and Venom (Topher Grace), not to mention Harry Osborn (James Franco). On the distaff side, Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker must contend -- poor guy -- with the attentions of Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) and Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard).

So, about that battle -- is Sandman involved? Venom? How about Harry Osborn? Don't click here if you don't want to know!

Im still thinking that this movie will be very disappointing to many fans. Alot of people are wanting to see Venom, which we WILL see one way or another, but i think it will only be for maybe 5 to 10 mins tops. I mean, if Venom was going to have more screen time, why was he left out of the trailer, and why did sony get their panties in a wad when the Venom footage hit the net? Because there isnt alot of Venom footage to begin with, thats why. Im still excited about this movie, but im going in with low expectations. I hope i am surprised by this movie.

When it comes to Venom, I think this sort of falls under "supply and demand". With "supply and demand", the more people that want the object, the higher it will cost. So when it comes to Venom, since there are so many people that want to see Venom in a live action movie, then the studio will "raise the price" (ie make them wait longer).

Personally, I think Venom will make between 15-20 minutes appearence.

i am thinking the exact opposite. i think this movie is going to blow away everyone's high expectations. from everything i read venom gets to be a part of a humongous battle towards the end of the movie. what more can you ask for. you will see venom in action for a good amount of time. venom is not the type of character that has to be in the whole movie to not dissapoint fans.

I dissagree about not dissapointing the fans with just an appearance... people have been waiting to see him, yes, but it would be kind of like a slap in the face for a 15-20 appearance. Thats jus teasing, and also assumes that they jus put him in the movie to shut the fans up. Take for example the Dark Pheonix saga of the X-Men series - CMON. They completely understated her whole character, and a LOT of people were pissed about it. Better to have left her out of the 3rd, and give her a more significant role in a 4th film.

Finally someone understands what im trying to get threw to everyone. I personally think that The Sandman could have been left out of this movie and the two villians could be Venom and Harry Osbourn(which he should have become Hobgoblin). In the end, i see Spiderman 3 as a very sad end to this Franchise with this cast. If Toby doesnt return for a fourth, this whole thing is going to turn into the BATMAN series of movies and we will have to wait 10 years for them to make SPIDERMAN BEGINS.
