"The Dark Knight" Will Summer in Chicago

"The Dark Knight," which is the highly-anticipated sequel to the awesome "Batman Begins," will be shooting in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and England ... but apparently the cast and crew will be spending much of their summer in the fine city of Chicago, Illinois.

IGN Movies informs us that, according to RealChicago.com, Warner Bros. has scheduled 13 weeks of shoot time in the Windy City. The production is going under the title "Rory's First Kiss," but those 'in the know' are well aware that this is just a code name for "The Dark Knight."

Batman isn't new to Chi-town, of course. Sections of "Begins" were lensed there as well, only you might not recognize the city, what with all the set dressings and digital paint-brushing and mood lighting.

Starring pretty much the entire gang from the original (minus Katie Holmes but plus Heath Ledger), "The Dark Knight" is scheduled for a Summer 2008 release. And it will be a smash hit.

Matanuki .

I'm sick of the damn "news". They're getting annoying with it in the Spiderman III sense of the word already, and it's projected release date is over a year away. They need to shut up and just make the film already.

I'm a huge fan of this type of news. I do PA work and am very interested in where this will film, I was completely off the wall stoked about the Baltimore news a few weeks back...but now I'm curious as to why Baltimore was taken off the list in the beggining of the article.
On the other hand, miniscule news like this creates bits of hype (since other movies don't get update treatment like this) and above anything else I do not want to be over-hyped for this movie.

Man i was pissed when they said originally they were not going to film in Chicago but now i am happy that they decided to use their heads and film there. I remember being able to pick out all the parts of Chicago in Batman Begins and i cant wait to do it again. Plus they used the Chicago Stock Exchange as thebuilding Wayne Tower so it would be kinda hard not to film there for the sequal.
