Already Talks of a "Ghost Rider" Sequel?
by Scott Weinberg | February 12, 2007
Discuss Article
The movie sites have been all abuzz about this weekend's "Ghost Rider," and producer Avi Arad is (obviously) among the excited ones. He even went far enough to discuss, yep, sequel possibilities.

I think it's kind of a "jinx" to start discussing sequel options before your movie hits the screens (especially when it's a movie that's been pushed back as long as "Ghost Rider" has), but maybe Mr. Arad has access to some very thrilling tracking numbers or something. According to Movieweb, "talks are now underway" to get a "Ghost Rider 2" rolling.

That's all the info we have so far, but everyone keeps saying how much Nicolas Cage loves this particular Marvel character, so a sequel certainly wouldn't shock me. (A good one, however, might.)

Is this a way of creating hype?
No real advanced screenings for ctitics then the producer comes out and says "yes we are looking at a sequel". Then we all think, well if it's good enough for a sequel it must be good!
Sounds dodgy.
I'm still in though. The comics were very cool.

There's a reason why some action movies are released in February, and it's not because they're banking on making a sequel. This movie has Daredevil written all over it.

Yeah, Nic Cage loves this particular character, then how 'bout doing him right? If your head turned to a flaming skull at night, wouldn't you be more troubled and tortured? This looks more like a light-hearted comedy from all of the ads and trailers; Cage acting as if it's a big joke or a cool trick. I'm pretty sure that's NOT how the character was in the comics.

shouldn't we let the first one suck before we are assulted by another one.

i just thought of something. Ghost Rider. Ghost Ridin. nick cage jumps out of his car with a flaming skull and starts dancing, while the car is still movie.

Ghost Ridin, Ghost Ride the whip.

ghost rider
i think i'm going to skip this one. the ads make it look like a comedy. ghost rider was a very dark character who was struggling to balance between the human world and the underworld. nic cage cracking jokes about his head on fire shows a sign that this is going to be bad. i'll wait to rent it like i did daredevil. i'd rather save my money for march to watch 300.

Good idea, lets see 300 twice instead!

Although I have no intention of ever watching this movie, a sequel could be cool if they introduce Zarathos.

no way !
This is Avi Arad and Columbia's desperate spin to indicate the movie is SO good, people will line up in droves and push this to a 150 million hit (the benchmark to get a sequel greenlit, nowadays).

Well, i've seen it, and i'm so disappointed. It'll make 100 mil probably...But how many good faith will be broken ?
