Redford, Streep and Cruise Prepare "Lions for Lambs"
by Scott Weinberg | February 22, 2007
Discuss Article
Robert Redford will star opposite Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep in "Lions for Lambs," a three-story terrorist drama that the Sundance Kid will helm himself. It should be ready by the end of the year, actually.

November 9th is when the "Lions" arrive. Also on board are Peter Berg, Michael Pena, Derek Luke and Andrew Garfield. The screenplay was written by Matthew Carnahan, whom I'm pretty sure is the brother of director Joe Carnahan. Either way, this flick's got one helluva cast (and premise). All we know about the plot is that it weaves three stories together, all of which center on America's war on terrorism.

Sounds like Oscar bait to me.

Is the public going to boycott this, like Mission Impossible III? Anyways, the plot reminds me of Babel but I hope it's more interesting.

They were filing this movie a couple weeks back (and probably still) in Rocky Peak open space bordering Simi Valley and Chatsworth....I assume the area is going to represent Afgahnistan? Odd......given that I have hiked there my whole life....might be hard to take the film seriously without the suspension of disbelief.

I can't wait to see this movie, with all those huge actors in it. Also Tom Cruise's next one, Rubicon looks interesting.
