First Full Look at the Bumblebee "Transformer"
by Scott Weinberg | April 11, 2007
Discuss Article
So far you've only glimpsed Autobots and Decepticons in fleeting, as they smash their way through clips and trailers or loom in the distance of production stills. Now peek at the first detailed visage of a "Transformer" online!

It's a close-up shot of the apparently very popular "Bumblebee" character, only he's not in vehicle form in this pic. He's got a face and everything! Click here to see the goods.

Seems like we've been talking about the flick forever, but "Transformers" is scheduled to plow into cinemas come July 4th. Needless to say it won't have many competitors that weekend. (As of right now, the only other wide release that weekend is a Robin Williams / Mandy Moore comedy called "License to Wed.")

I know it's obvious to even point it out at this late date, but "Transformers" marks the first collaboration between controversial director Michael Bay and universally-adored producer Steven Spielberg. That alone makes the movie worth checking out, if you ask me.

Anyway, how 'bout that Bumblebee pic?

OK...
OK... Actually, I like the way BUMBLEBEE looks in Micheal Bay's movie. He looks a little bit more menacing and hip, and a little "less gay"...

Because, in the cartoon series he always looked like... (ok, get ready:)-- that homosexual kid cousin no-one talks about in family gatherings...

I mean, Cmon! He was short... He had this BIG chest (I know that's the car hood he transforms into, but still) for a Transformer who's supposed to be 'male'...
He had this quirky, over sensitive voice over... and he was the only Transformer who chose to waste his time talking to the puny, stupid humans (playing with dolls, anyone?)--- instead of kicking decepticon-butts and trashing everything in the process.

AH, you see? "Transformers" have more depth in thier characters than you'd ever imagined before. Truely, "more than meets the eye"...

with a name like "Bumblebee", you're surprised by his effeminate side? ;-)

Hey I don't know about robots, but most humans don't get to pick their own names. I'm sure he'd rather have been called "Destroyer" or "Annihilator," but that's just the way the bolt bounces...

C'mon!
C'mon! You know I'm just joking. I love all the Transformers characters.
I'm a brown skin guy, by the way...
Woh, I still can't believe I "forced" Bumblebee "OUT of the Closet" like that...
I doubt Optimus Prime would be surprised though.
Ol' Prime knew all along.

And then there was 'that night' when Ol' Optimus Prime drank just a little too-much fuel, and Bumblebee started looking... (!!!)

OK! OK! OK!! I'll stop right there, and not tell you about that...!
Suffice to say, the Decepticon's side don't have "that much interesting" nights to party... That's why they're bitter, understand?

as for bumblebee, im not saying he should be "cuter" but he doesnt look very friendly, which is ok by me

People, it's a popcorn flick done by the Master of Popcorn Cheese! It's going to get HORRIBLE reviews, but I'm banking on it being a (minor) success in the box office this summer.

Bumblebee personally was one of my favorites growing up b/c he was the underdog of the Transformers.

And why does everything that looks stupid have to be labeled "gay"?

lol. you a fool, man. So Optimus... "drank too much fuel."? lol. You're a trip. But your joke logic is flawed in the end there. You say the Decepticons didn't have any fun? Well, I say they had more fun. Remember, they have all those "team" bots that combine to transform into larger robots. Get it... they.... combine... ;-) And don't get me started on Soundwave and all his male ho's that jump fabulously out of his chest. [just kidding of course, for the less initiated]

If you hate Transformers, why are you posting on a Transformers forum?
