"Spider-Man 3" Bits: A Final Trailer and a Jason Schwartzman Cameo?
by Scott Weinberg | April 12, 2007
Discuss Article
It seems like there's already been at least nine trailers released for "Spider-Man 3," and here's the final one. I'm not sure if it's any different from that "Comcast exclusive" trailer we saw last week, but hey, if it's Spidey-related, we're on it. Oh, and there's some gossip about a strange cameo appearance...

First the juicy stuff: One source is reporting that the one and only Jason Schwartzman will make an appearance in "Spider-Man 3." He'll be playing one of Mary Jane's on-stage co-stars ... and apparently he'll be singing! (Aw, why couldn't that cameo have gone to Bruce Campbell?) We'll have to wait till the movie comes out (May 4th) to see if this scoop is legit, but it seems just too weird to make up. Jason Schwartzman?

And then there's the latest and last trailer for "Spider-Man 3," which is appropriately slick and action-packed, but I liked the other trailer better. The one that shows more than 2.2 seconds of the Sandman character. (Sorry but Harry Osborne kinda bores me.) At this point I don't want to see one more frame of "S3" before I get to see the actual movie, but if you haven't checked out this trailer yet, you might want to do so.

i feel like ive seen spiderman 3 at least 9 billion times already. although, in all fairness, we havent seen the money shots of venom or sandman. sure we've got a glimpse or two, but nothing really cool. but sony releasing the 7 minute fight between harry and spidey seems like a desperate attempt to show people that harry isnt just a stupid gen x super villain....

Of course that's what they were trying to do, and it worked on a lot of people. I mean, think how ridiculous the GG would/does appear on film. It's comical. And I know people give them crap about making the mask plastic, but seriously, haha, how worse would it have been if it were a rubber mask? Ahhh, some things just don't transfer to film well. You don't think they did tests to see how it would have looked?

the original GG in the first does look ridiculous. especially when combined with the great willem defoe's voice (too over the top and ridiculous). as weird as harry looks, he does look a little better than his dear old dad. (although the board pales in comparision to the glider)

Oh god, the CGI towards the end really sucks. Why can't they ever get it right in this series?

JASON SCHWARTZMAN

a great debut in Rushmore, and then he ruined his carreer with bad movie choices

i think he looks like that new superman guy, especially in clark kent mode

Hey Schwartzman is awesome and I've like him in a lot of things, so I'll look foreward to his cameo. Harry gets messed up(nice scars).

What's your beef with the CGI?

Jason Schwartzman is perfect for this cameo
Jason Schwartzman is the perfect actor for this cameo, I don't find it that odd. Most people are unaware of this but JS just recently released his own CD, the name of the band is Coconut Records and the CD is titled "Nighttiming" (it's actually pretty good too, well i enjoyed it anyways) The CD was produced by Mike Einziger.

and in response to Jugger, what are you talking about? Shopgirl, and I Heart Huckabees were amazing, and several other films were pretty good as well.

Mike Einziger is the guitarist in Incubus in case nobody knew that. He also plays in a few spots on the CD.

I believe it is true, because if you look at the track listings for the Spider-Man 3 soundtrack, you see a band called Coconut Records with the song "Summer Day". The lead singer of Coconut Records is Jason Schwartzman and guess singing on the song is Kiersten Dunst.
