Favreau Promises "Iron Man" Teasers and a Comic Con Appearance
by Scott Weinberg | May 01, 2007
Discuss Article
As he's apt to do from time to time, director Jon Favreau has stopped by his MySpace blog to offer a few "Iron Man" production tidbits to the fans. This time around: Suit info, teaser talk, convention appearances, and Jeff Bridges' hair.

Or "lack of hair" I should say. Turns out Mr. Bridges is playing a character called Stane, and apparently Stane is bald. Cool.

Favreau also clarifies that the movie will contain both the bulky grey armor that we already saw AND the classic red and gold suit we all know and love. The director is also tossing around ideas for teaser trailers and promises to make an appearance at San Diego Comic Con.

You'll also find a few location reports in the blog entry, so feel free to check it on out.

Thank you, sir.
Thank you, Mr. Jon Favreau, for telling us that we WILL be seeing the Gold and red classic suit (beloved by all fans, and essential to the look and feel of IronMan)...

That "bulky grey suit" picture released recently, kinda bothered me, ever since I'd seen it. I was afraid of (some) film-makers's tendencies of "going artistic" (in not a good manner)--- and when they do that, they tend sometimes, to cancel what is most important and essential to fans of the comics... (like a stupid idea of making Hulk grey, for instance.)

Thank you, Mr. Favreau, for putting those fears to rest.

This is why I've personally always enjoyed sequels. We'll probably see the red and gold suit near the end, for the final fight or something like that. I like a good origin story, but it's also nice to get them out of the way. I really enjoy watching the character's next journey. Personally, I'm looking forward to Iron Man, but even more looking forward to Iron Man 2.

Oh, Jon. Don't even pretend like any teaser won't include cutting Ozzy Osbourne a check. Beyond that, a cursory shot of the armor would be appreciated, and then I'd be perfectly satisfied waiting for the release date.

Just sit back and enjoy the Ozzy...

The suit of gray rusty armor is one that Stark builds while he and a bunch of other weapons experts are being held captive. I think.

Making Hulk grey is only a stupid idea if you're not really a fan of the comics.
My favorite Iron Man suit is the silver and red suit, anyways.
