The Hulk Has a New Girllllfriend!!

As much as I love Jennifer Connelly (and boy do I), it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that she wouldn't be returning to play Betty Ross in "The Incredible Hulk." But at least the producers made a really good choice for the sequel... Back to Article

![]() on May 04 2007 02:54 PM Liv Tyler is average-looking, but anyone who likes her at all should admit that that's a terrible photo of her up there. The eyes are slowly eating my soul. (Reply to this) |

on May 04 2007 03:23 PM In reply to this comment (#863818) average-looking? are you insane? so you're saying that you can find women that look like that in droves down at the DMV? what a nutjob. (Reply to this) |

on May 04 2007 05:21 PM In reply to this comment (#863808) Respectable actors? Forgive me if I'm reading your post wrong, but it sounds as if you're saying Batman Begins didn't have respectable actors in it. Tell me it ain't so? Cuz that film was almost entirely populated with respectable actors. ..In fact, I've gotta somehow be reading your post wrong. No way you're saying what I think you're saying. (Reply to this) |

on May 05 2007 12:49 AM Well that destroys any hope I had for this movie. I liked Hulk. It was far from perfect but was better than almost any other comic movie I could name at the time. Casting her is just a terrible choice. She can't act at all. She's a bit part player at best not a main character at least if you want your film to be good. Ed Norton is great but if Betty is going to be anything more than a side character this movie is doomed. (Reply to this) |
![]() on May 05 2007 04:49 AM She's cute. Hey, stop with all the Liv-bashing here, people! She's sweet. And she has more 'meat on her bones' than Jennifer Connelly. She's SEXIER than Jennifer Conelly. {OK, MOVING INTO DEFENSIVE MODE NOW: PREPARING TO RECIEVE JENNIFER CONELLY FANFOYS' COUNTER-ATTACTS: ALL HANDS BRACE FOR IMPACT!! HERE THEY COME!} (Reply to this) |

on May 05 2007 07:26 AM Jennifer Connelly is way hot. I've been a big fan of hers since Beautiful Mind. Liv Tyler is meh. (Reply to this) |

on May 05 2007 11:50 AM IMO, what made Hulk flawed was not the story or anything like that, but, the CGI. First of all, they made him wayyyyyyyyyy too big, and, secondly, I know for a fact he can be done with real make up to look like a believable Hulk. I mean, though LXG wasn't all that great of a film, look at Dr. Jekyll. They used make up on him and, as Mr. Hyde, he looked believable. (Reply to this) |

on May 05 2007 07:35 PM In reply to this comment (#863807) My Dad's a great guy. We agree on a lot, except for one thing; Liv Tyler. He thinks she's hot. I think she's okay, I don't hate her like you do, but she shouldn't be in this movie, it's that simple. (Reply to this) |

on May 06 2007 01:19 AM In reply to this comment (#863808) So are you saying that Christian Bale is not a respectable actor???? Are you fucking kidding me? I can't think of very many actors in all of Hollywood that can match his abilities. (Reply to this) |
|
on May 06 2007 06:11 AM In reply to this comment (#863829) Christian Bale is a great actor. (Reply to this) |
|
on May 06 2007 06:41 AM In reply to this comment (#863829) Yeah, I'm still waiting for a response to that one. My guess is he went and re-read his post and, realizing his error, decided to hang back until the steam blew over. However, it's others that have given me more pause. There were several great actors on that cast, nearly the entire cast in fact, and the only one people roil in defense of is Christian Bale. That's odd. How about Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Tom Wilkinson, Ken Watanabe, Gary Oldman and Cillian Murphy? No super hero ever has had a cast like that! And when someone makes a wild atrocious remark, the only sound that comes back from out the darkness is a single, three syllable name.... (Reply to this) |

on May 06 2007 06:47 AM In reply to this comment (#863828) It's simple? Cool. Great news. Then we can trust that your backing for this theory of yours will be equally simple, whenever it comes. I won't insult you by assuming that your reason for her not being suited for this movie is your opinion on her level of hotness. (Reply to this) |
|
on May 06 2007 10:39 AM In reply to this comment (#863832) You're right; it's not because of her level of hotness. I just don't think she should be in the movie. Obviously people with disagree with me, but I don't really care for her as an actress, and I just can't see her in the movie. That' just me, though. (Reply to this) |
![]() on May 06 2007 06:39 PM In reply to this comment (#863827) Ok. I know that there are people out there who have this image of the Hulk TV show stuck in their head, but it's not the true Hulk. The Hullk from the comic books is just as big as he was in the first movie. They actually did a great job at creating a CGI Hulk character, I for one was pretty impressed by it. The story of the first movie wasn't interesting and tried to be too touching. Imagery is just too important when making movies based on comic books. You gotta keep the massive CGI Hulk or it's just not the Hulk. Some comics shouldn't even be made into movies due to it being nearly impossible to get the imagery and characters right. X-Men and Fantastic Four fall into this category for me. As a comic book fan, they're too far off the mark and shouldn't have been made. (Reply to this) |
|
on May 06 2007 07:14 PM In reply to this comment (#863834) I can dig where you are coming from, but I disagree. Better story would solve the problem with these films. That goes for X Men and, based on the first film, Fantastic Four too. Spiderman was pretty good until the end, but not too many franchises survive the trilogy curse. (Reply to this) |
|
on May 08 2007 11:53 AM I think Liv Tyler is hot. Bring her on. (Reply to this) |

on May 10 2007 03:00 PM In reply to this comment (#863819) She is average looking... Yeah, with make-up artists and camera angles she can look good, but I see women that are hotter and more beautiful than her on a daily basis. And I work at a Starbucks. Maybe it's just in Cali. (Reply to this) |
