Harry Potter and the Fluctuating Bra Size
by Scott Weinberg | May 11, 2007
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Now here's a juicy little story that's also a little ... creepy. Seems that, on certain posters for "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," the size of Emma Watson's ... chest region ... has been monkeyed with. (Keep in mind we're talking about a 17-year-old actress playing a 15-year-old character.)

Apparently some "unapproved" posters were made available through the IMAX website, and they're ones that look surprisingly similar to some of the earlier posters. Until you look a little extra closely at some areas you ought not to be focusing on. Yep, through the magic of airbrushing and digital enhancement, the sweater-clad bosoms of Ms. Watson had been made ... curvier by someone at WB marketing.

Heck, I think it's tacky when they do this for GROWN-UP actresses, so this particular case is pretty icky in my book. There's no denying that Emma Watson is a beautiful girl, but let the kid be a kid, for cryin' out loud. Frankly I worry about anyone who walks into a "Harry Potter" flick for the sex appeal. Anyway, you can check out the poster comparisons at the sources listed below.

I think they're just preparing audiences for later on, you know, when the same actors are playing these roles as 15-year-olds, but they're all in their thirties.

And if you look closely at the two posters, they're not so much bringing attention to Emma Watson as much as they're drawing attention away from the receding hair line of the actor who is standing behind her.

Besides, if you're someone who wants to see a studio shamelessly promote the sex appeal of a character who is supposed to be 15, just watch Heroes on NBC.

"Stare at our cheerleader ... I mean, save the cheerleader, save the world."

...Its 2 different photos....
Seriously, if they were anal enough, if you look at everybody and their facial expressions, where they're eyes were focused on the picture, you can easily tell its 2 differen't pics.

And the reason Watson looks like she has a bigger bust in the other pic is because the way she's holding her body.

The big key is Percy (I think thats him) the guy standing next to Emma. He's looking in 2 different directions, his mouth is opened in one shot and closed in the next.

I believe there was no "monkeying" with, its just that they are 2 different pics and they put the unapproved one on display.

And speaking of Heroes. How old is she really? I think the most wierd, creepy part with her, was when she was in the autopsy room and putting her chest back togeather.

It's only a slight difference, true, but on principle it's a bit sketchy, especially in this case...

Like Harry Potter needs any more publicity.

Look, there are a lot more differences between the two Hermiones than the the curve (as has already be mentioned). If the underlying concern is that a sub-18yr old is being sexually exploited then this seems like a pretty week case.

My subjective eye, says that the authorized Hermione is more sexually suggestive particularly in the lighting and the expression which I rather sultry in the authorized version and more stern in the unauthorized. That's just my view. And that's the crux of it. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

And, BTW, what are the odds that either image is anything close to a reality? (Whatever that is when you are talking about fictional characters in a fantasy movie!) Both images are more accurately described as renderings of the subjects than photographs.

The scottish girl that plays Cho Chang is pretty hot, I can't deny that. Hermione ain't bad either.

Crudebob. I love how you use the word wand as an innuendo for penis. I've never seen anybody make that kind of joke in reference to Harry Potter before, ever. No really, you're the first. What complex, layered, thinking man's humor that is. Brilliant, just brilliant. Do you have any old puns to throw out at us while we are creating groundbreaking achievements in humor?

I'm just having some fun, just messing with ya. The joke's probably on me anyways because you probably meant that to be tongue and cheek.

Hmmm, actually I thinking that she used Harry's wand to make her boobs bigger. Surely you can't be suggesting that old crudebob's mind was in the gutter by suggesting that it was Harry's penis?

Besides what's the big deal about Hermione's boobs when many of us saw Harry's "wand" in those pictures he took in front of the horse a few months ago?
