Who Ordered a Sequel to "Waiting"?
by Scott Weinberg | June 07, 2007
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Raise your hand if you liked the flick "Waiting..." (My hand is presently raised.) OK, good. Apparently everyone but Ryan Reynolds is reuniting for a sequel.

According to MTV / VH1, Anna Faris, Justin Long, Alanna Ubach, Dane Cook, Andy Milonakis, and a bunch of other disgruntled restaurant workers will be shooting "Still Waiting" some time this summer.
Quote:

"I think most people are coming back at least for cameos," Milonakis said of actors like Long (now in "Live Free or Die Hard"), Anna Faris ("My Super Ex-Girlfriend") and Dane Cook ("Mr. Brooks"). Skyler Stone, who played a cook in the original flick and reteamed with Ubach for the Best Movie Spoof nominee "Quentin Tarantino's Little Miss Squirtgun," added that he also plans to return for the sequel.

Alas, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Ryan Reynolds will NOT be stopping back, but I suppose they'll just give the lead to Justin Long.

Ryan Reynolds being Ryan Reynolds was pretty much the only reason to watch the original. I'll take a pass on this one.

No Reynolds, no thanks
It was a hilarious movie but most of that was Ryan Reynolds. "How do you feel about full frontal male nudity?" I think they got lucky the first time around - don't see that happening again.

reynolds can be replaced, but still that sucks that the words "cameo" are being floated around for everyone...as if they're using a new cast. this was one of THE funniest movies i've ever seen. especially since alot of people that hated it SWEAR that doesn't happen in restaurants. believe me...it does. if you've ever worked in a restaurant...you need to see this movie

malinakas SUCKS, and if they give him a bigger role...i'm gonna puke. the whole "jay and silent bob" thing they tried to do with him and that other kid was the only unfunny thing about it.

Seems just like Van Wilder
And I was thinking of the title "Still Waiting" before I even read the damn thing.

Dane Cook is probably the only reason to watch this film even if its a cameo. Milonakis giving the details just spells out horrible to me.

I didn't think that the first one was funny enough to warrant a sequel, even with Ryan Reynolds. I'll pass on this one.

it was funny, not sequel worthy but funny. Reynolds was the only reason I watched the first one though. They'll have to make a lot of big changes to avoid it seeming like just additional footage from the first one.

This movie was not funny. Sure there are some laughs here and there, but c'mon Scott, seriously, you liked this? I had a better time watching the paint-drying web cam

I want to see the "underage" girl that Ryan was flirting with the whole time.

HOT!

This movie was freakin hilarious. I don`t think it made a lot of money though. Then again, how much could it have really cost.

ugh, this is yet another example of hollywood running out of ideas. a sequel to waiting? are you kidding? waiting's storyline was a one-movie premise. i don't see how a sequel could actually succeed.

i hope reynolds doesn't come back for the sequel. i hope he has enough dignity to avoid things like this.

It's better they give it to Long than Dane Cook. *shudder*

I wasn't aware that anyone even liked Waiting..., never saw it, but it got such a bad rep from critics/moviegoers alike so I just figured "why bother."

dont like the floating use of 'cameos'
'Waiting' was fantastic, like to see it deliver, but doubt it will.
