"I Am Legend" Trailer ... and "I, Robot 2"?

Two stories in one, both of which deal with science fiction and Will Smith.

First off, it looks like "Battlestar Galactica" producer Ronald Moore is penning a sequel to the Will Smith sci-fi flick "I, Robot." It seems to be in the very early stages, so don't get all angry just yet. (Moore's film credits include "Mission: Impossible 2," "Star Trek: First Contact," and "Star Trek: Generations.")

In other (much bigger) news, the first trailer for Will Smith's apocalyptic thriller "I Am Legend" has hit the 'net and you can check it out right here. Based on the classic story by Richard Matheson and directed by "Constantine" helmer Francis Lawrence, "I Am Legend" hits theaters on December 14th. And based on this trailer, it looks like it could be pretty darn cool.

Even though the clip for I Am Legend makes it look a lot like 28 Days Later, it is a movie that I'm looking forward to. Nothing needs to be said about I, Robot 2.

I've never read the book, but the trailer makes Legend look much more action-oriented than i would have expected. But that shouldn't be a big surprise. It looks good.

I kinda use "I, Robot" as my unofficial prequel to The Matrix movies. Anybody else do that?

Independence day is one of my all-time hated movies (not Will Smith's fault). Other than that I do like Will Smith movies. He does a great job.

I'm looking forward to I Am Legend. How long has it been since a good Sci-Fi post Appocalypse movie? 28 Weeks Later wasn't really post-Appocalypse in my books.

I'm not too sure if a sequel to I-Robot is a good idea or not. Will have to see what comes out about it.

Will Smith is a better actor than I think a lot of people give him credit for. I think he'll be excellent in I Am Legend, and I'll be there opening night.

I, Robot was fun, but I'm not so sure about a second one.

I liked I, Robot. It was decent. I guess I really liked some of the shots for I am Legend, and I hate to sound, oh I don't know, but there was no action. I don't need action in my movies, but for a trailer I like the quick cutting action stuff, especially with Will Smith attached. I don't know. It was an interesting choice, but I don't think anyone would've minded had they tacked on a bit of the action. This was mildly underwhelming.

Sam, you have to understand it's a teaser.
They kept the action a bit in the shadows. For a 200 millon movie
you know the action and special effects are going to be there.

I love the teaser, it didn't show much which a lot of trailers are doing these days,
Spidy 3 showed almost all the action scenes so do most of the movies, it's nice to not see that for a change.

I'm now officially pumped for IAL.I had my doubts overall, but so far looks excellent.

Teasers have become silly nowadays (man, I'm sounding old). You could take all the teasers for these blockbuster movies and practically splice 2/3 of the movie together, not to mention they show ALL the good action and/or humor scenes from the movie. If you look at the movie trailers on your DVDs for some of the older movies like Alien, Willow, etc you can see what trailers should be like. They should give you a hint about what the movie is going to be about without laying out the entire movie for you and show you the best scenes in such a way that you don't even need to go see the damn thing.

It's because they generally had more faith in the quality of their stories back then. Nowadays, there's seldom any story at all.

Well said Elixor, agree with matanuki. That's why I'm so hyped about AIL.
It didn't had to manifest the teaser on the action scenes, instead it relied on the quality of the movie and brought out the mystery factor which adds so much, sometimes less is more.When you go to see IAL, you know there's going to be a lot of stuff you haven't seen.
Overall though, the trailer is so good yet looks so meh. I mean that in a good way.
It's a great trailer.

This is my first posting guys. I thought the trailer was cool but I was disappointed to not see any of Francis Larence's trademark odd cinematography, special effects, and lighting that is used in his music videos and in Constantine(besides on the grass)

I, Robot was much better than I anticipated. A sequel could prove entertaining.

I Am Legend just skyrocketed to my #1 anticipated movies for the holiday season. I've never read the book, but I love me some disaster sci-fi+apocalypse movies.

I Robot was not even that good........ i guess it was alright nowhere near as good as that guy's other films (the crow for example) i didn't mind it or anything i can say that but we really don't need a sequel for that one..........as for I Am Legend i will probably see that......... i am not expecting it to be more of a B-movie but it looks like fun entertainment....... and who knows maybe it will be the one 2007 movie that just blows me away.
