Even though the clip for I Am Legend makes it look a lot like 28 Days Later, it is a movie that I'm looking forward to. Nothing needs to be said about I, Robot 2.

ANOTHER REMAKETHIS MOVIE IS NOT A SEQUEL, IT IS A EXACT REMAKE OF THE OMEGA MAN, STARRING CHARLTON HESTON IN THE LATE 70S OR EARLY 80S, THE NAMES ARE THE SAME, THE STORY IS EXACTLY THE SAME, I GUESS THEY HAVE RUN OUT OF NEW IDEAS IN HOLLYWOOD.
Jun 10 - 09:37 AM
Not reallyOmega Man was based on I am Legend. They significantly changed a lot though. It had none of the vampire elements the define the book nor any of the good psychological elements of an ordinary man trying to figure out what the hell is going on and becoming a legendary creature in the eyes of beings that once were thought to be legend. Instead, they went with the christian allegory angle in Omega Man. The Last Man on Earth, w/ Vincent Price was also based on I Am Legend but there were so many changes that eventually Matheson had his name taken off the film. If this movie sticks close to the book it could well be quite good and it won't be exactly like anything done before it.

Plus Charlton Heston isn't a black man and I personally don't think he could pull off any of Will Smiths wide variety of catchphrases. Though I'd pay to see him try...To Pharoah "Hear and obey...Ahhhh....hell...NO!!!!"
Jun 10 - 12:26 PM
Sweet and double sweet. I, Robot was hott so I"m looking forward to the sequel. I am Legend? Great book, and looks to be a cool movie. I'm sold.
Jun 8 - 07:58 AM
Great...Will Smith is one bad ass dude. Seriously just about all his movies are great. Id see anything he was in because he is that good.
Jun 8 - 07:59 AM
Independence day is one of my all-time hated movies (not Will Smith's fault). Other than that I do like Will Smith movies. He does a great job.
I'm looking forward to I Am Legend. How long has it been since a good Sci-Fi post Appocalypse movie? 28 Weeks Later wasn't really post-Appocalypse in my books.
I'm not too sure if a sequel to I-Robot is a good idea or not. Will have to see what comes out about it.
Jun 8 - 10:05 AM
Didn't watch the trailer yet, but I'm excited about I,Robot 2. I really liked the first and the credits of the producer.
Jun 8 - 08:45 AM
I've never read the book, but the trailer makes Legend look much more action-oriented than i would have expected. But that shouldn't be a big surprise. It looks good.
Jun 8 - 09:17 AM
I wouldn't mind an "I, Robot 2"
I kinda use "I, Robot" as my unofficial prequel to The Matrix movies. Anybody else do that?
Jun 8 - 09:40 AM
Right here, Bear. Well that and Ghost in the Shell anyway.
Jun 8 - 09:45 AM
Ramon del Prado
ditto! actually I Robot looks like an expanded version of the "Second Renaissance" from the animatrix.
plus, there's already a sequel to I Robot, it's just called Terminator 3. :P
then The Matrix comes after that. :P
Jun 12 - 12:07 AM
Will Smith is a better actor than I think a lot of people give him credit for. I think he'll be excellent in I Am Legend, and I'll be there opening night.
I, Robot was fun, but I'm not so sure about a second one.
Jun 8 - 10:14 AM
I liked I, Robot. It was decent. I guess I really liked some of the shots for I am Legend, and I hate to sound, oh I don't know, but there was no action. I don't need action in my movies, but for a trailer I like the quick cutting action stuff, especially with Will Smith attached. I don't know. It was an interesting choice, but I don't think anyone would've minded had they tacked on a bit of the action. This was mildly underwhelming.
Jun 8 - 10:47 AM
Sam, you have to understand it's a teaser.
They kept the action a bit in the shadows. For a 200 millon movie
you know the action and special effects are going to be there.
I love the teaser, it didn't show much which a lot of trailers are doing these days,
Spidy 3 showed almost all the action scenes so do most of the movies, it's nice to not see that for a change.
I'm now officially pumped for IAL.I had my doubts overall, but so far looks excellent.
Jun 8 - 11:31 AM
Great point Typhoon.
*Warning: Off the subject rant*
Teasers have become silly nowadays (man, I'm sounding old). You could take all the teasers for these blockbuster movies and practically splice 2/3 of the movie together, not to mention they show ALL the good action and/or humor scenes from the movie. If you look at the movie trailers on your DVDs for some of the older movies like Alien, Willow, etc you can see what trailers should be like. They should give you a hint about what the movie is going to be about without laying out the entire movie for you and show you the best scenes in such a way that you don't even need to go see the damn thing.
Jun 8 - 01:16 PM
It's because they generally had more faith in the quality of their stories back then. Nowadays, there's seldom any story at all.
Grief, thanks alot, Elixor. Now you're making me feel old too. ;-)

dont we love to idealize the past?really, it's so easy to idealize the past.... In 10 or 15 years we are gonna be like "remember when commercial movies had interesting characters (x men, bourne, shrek, pixar, new bruce wayne, jack sparrow even if i dont like him, neo, umma thurman in kill bill) and well developed stories (the movies from the characters just mentioned)? Remember when, after the 80s and early 90s, producers started to give way more opportunities to independent filmmakers ?and more freedom to filmmaker when they were to do the big studio commercial films (sam reimi, christoper nolan, peter jackson, bryan singer)? Remember when animated films were fresh and original with Pixar? Remember when more and more good full filmmakers were writing, directing and producing and were still allowed to be in hollywood (coen brothers, alexander payne, paul thomas anderson, anthony minghella, kevin smith, quentin tarantino, gus van sant)? Remeber when even the younger and/or newer actors often outshone the older big names (matt damon, leonardo dicarprio, joseph gordon levitt, mark wahlberg, johnny depp, heath ledger, naomi watts, benicio del toro, jake gyllenhaall, maggie gyllenhaal, maybe shia leboef)
Come on, there has always been idealization of the past, especially when it comes to hollywood and pop culture. Seriously though, I dont want to go back to the days when a few oportunist producers gathered exotic dancers to make them divas and make a business with the new growing movie industry, nor to the days when what we called big summer action flicks were the same revenge story with steven segal, or arnold shwarzenneger, or sylvester stallone, or van damme, or chuck norris, or many others; nor to when disney did the same family movie over and over again (even if given that they barely exist today, we remember them as precious, again through idealization); nor to when there were many rush hours a year, but with even less quality; nor to when making a comic book adaptation, or tv cartoon adaptation, or tv show adaptation, was forcibly very cheap and bad, except for batman and maybe, to many, superman (which i cant stand).
Jun 13 - 12:55 PM
Coming to a TV near you...Not just the teasers, but moreso with regular trailers. I don't have to actively seek out all the 10-20 versions of a film's marketing TV campaign, and already they'd spoiled a ton of info. I blame Bob Zemeckis.
Now the question is: can this studio keep up the suspense for I Am Legend up to December, or will they blow their romance-explosion and get all spoiler-happy by National Turkey Feast Day?
Jun 10 - 05:51 AM
Well said Elixor, agree with matanuki. That's why I'm so hyped about AIL.
It didn't had to manifest the teaser on the action scenes, instead it relied on the quality of the movie and brought out the mystery factor which adds so much, sometimes less is more. When you go to see IAL, you know there's going to be a lot of stuff you haven't seen.
Overall though, the trailer is so good yet looks so meh. I mean that in a good way.
It's a great trailer.
Jun 8 - 01:37 PM
I liked "I, Robot" though a sequel seems completely unnecessary.
Jun 8 - 02:26 PM
I Robot sequel *shudder*
Jun 8 - 02:47 PM
This is my first posting guys. I thought the trailer was cool but I was disappointed to not see any of Francis Larence's trademark odd cinematography, special effects, and lighting that is used in his music videos and in Constantine(besides on the grass)

Jun 8 - 03:51 PM
I, Robot was much better than I anticipated. A sequel could prove entertaining.
I Am Legend just skyrocketed to my #1 anticipated movies for the holiday season. I've never read the book, but I love me some disaster sci-fi+apocalypse movies.
Jun 8 - 06:48 PM
I Robot was not even that good........ i guess it was alright nowhere near as good as that guy's other films (the crow for example) i didn't mind it or anything i can say that but we really don't need a sequel for that one..........as for I Am Legend i will probably see that......... i am not expecting it to be more of a B-movie but it looks like fun entertainment....... and who knows maybe it will be the one 2007 movie that just blows me away.
Jun 8 - 07:01 PM
I am Legend doesn't have too much action, if I remember the book correctly, but nonetheless a very good book and I'm pumped for this movie. Oh yeahhh this movie will pwn.
Jun 8 - 07:55 PM
Anyone basing what "I am Legend" will be like based on what the book was... have you learned nothing? "I, Robot" isn't an action book either, but that's what it became, didn't it?
Will Smith is a joke. He doesn't act in these movies, he entertains. Agent Jay, the ID4 character, Jim West, the I, Robot character... they're all the same thing. He's paid millions upon millions to be himself and yell "Hell, no!" a few times. Bang bang. I'm sick of him and his middle of the road, please all demographic performances. Yawn.
Jun 9 - 10:25 AM
SOMEBODY hasn't seen Pursuit of Happyness.

trailer music..is it just me or does the musical score to that trailer sound like a crappier version of the Requiem for a Dream song.
Jun 8 - 10:35 PM
and the poster seems like the poster for "THE ISLAND".. ya know, the one with the exact same colors but says something like NO ONE ESCAPES THE ISLAND
