First off, I haven't read the graphic novel---but that's probably the freshest concept for a vampire movie in 20 years. Talk about a frightening premise. However, this trailer really doesn't make the movie look that scary. It looks like a wasted opportunity to me.

Ummmm, Border patrol can't stop a bunch of kids from smuggling fireworks across the border. What makes us think they could stop a group of bloodthirsty vampires moving south for the Summer? Maybe this time of year is like Carnivale for them and they return to their hum-drum existence back in New Orleans during the Summer months.

The only real vampire experience I thoroughly enjoyed was actually a game called Vampires The Masquerade: Bloodlines. That was the game that got me into the vampires genre to begin with; like Interview with the Vampire, Underworld and Dracula. So far, nothing has immersed me as much as Bloodlines have. If 30 Nights is anything like that, they've sold me.

Does anybody else share my love for VTM:BL here? I wish they'd give us another sequel or an MMO. That universe needs to be tapped into again (pun intended).

Hard Candy was solid. I'm looking forward to this one.

It looked promising up until it had the "From Producer Sam Raimi", where I wasn't only worried, but everything just didn't look that good to me. I love the Spider-Man movies, but his recent horror stuff has been crap (Anyone else think The Grudge blew chunks?)

Lets not turn Sam into the new George Lucas again. Sure Spidey 3 wasn't everything it could have been and the Grudge series may heve been car crash theater, but I'm willing to give the guy who gave us Spiderman 1&2, The Frighteners and most importantly Ash the benefit of the doubt for a while still.

Well, the fact that he directed Spider-Man 3 didn't worry me (I loved it), but you're right. The Evil Dead and Spider-Man movies are great. Just one question; didn't Peter Jackson direct The Frighteners?

You're right, I got my small time horror directors made good mixed up. Good call.

Can't wait. I thought the direction in Hard Candy was excellent so I can't wait to see what the director does here. the trailer looks good and Alaska does look like a badass scary setting!

Preach on my brother, Fright Night is the shit. Whatever happened to that guy? The world needs the wisdom of Hermans Head now more than ever.

Pres. Andrew Johnson's secretary of state, William Seward, negotiated its purchase for $7.2 million, or about two cents per acre.

thanks

I read the graphic novel, and the best part of it isn't that its so original that the vampires thought of this, its what happens after they get there. If you like vampires in any facet, read the first graphic novel at least, its well worth the 15 bucks they are charging for it. Without giving away too much, lets just say things don't go as planned for the humans or vampires, and no I don't mean they change the 30 days of it being night either. If they keep it fairly close to the graphic novel, and there is no real reason for them not to, it was only about 5 comics worth, it will be amazing.
