"Luke Cage" Movie Not Hindered by Race
by Fred Topel | June 17, 2007
Discuss Article
Director John Singleton lamented that he couldn't get "Luke Cage" going because the studios just don't get a black superhero. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige suggested the problem was much simpler, and less controversial than that.

"We never got a script on Luke Cage while it was at Sony that did it justice from our point of view or John's point of view," said Feige. "The rights to that have reverted back to Marvel and I would love to do a Luke Cage movie."

Marvel now has their own production company. Their first solo film will be "Iron Man," and they're looking to diversify. "Looking for ways to continue Marvel movies with fresh content, with slightly different points of view, I think Luke Cage would absolutely fit into that."

Morgan Freeman would rule in the part of Power Man.

I bet after Ghost Rider, Nick Cage would don a blackface to get the role. After all, this was the same man who thought he would have been the perfect choice to play Superman.

Nah, they should just make him white. Better still, make a black panther movie with a white actor as the lead!

lol. A conditioned scowl was forming on my face until I remembered where that line came from. But then comes the looming scowl again,... when I look at the damn spelling.

But since we're throwing out great lines from black super heroes, let me come correct with this: "Some mutha******* are always tryin' to skate uphill." Loved that line.

if they make cage anything OTHER than black...al sharpton would be on the movie set with his gal pal jesse jackson faster than britney spears can drop to her knees at a walmart parking lot. i doubt the movie will even see the light of day but seeing how EVERY comic character ever made EVER is getting their own flick...who knows. doesn't have a broad appeal so its an already uphill battle

At what Walmart parking lot have you seen Britney Spears drop to her knees to 'earn her keep'?

Because after a 6 pack.... She might seem tolerable.

And on topic about this movie. I'm kinda meh on it. Only because I don't know/haven't read much of the comic. But if its made into a movie, will I see it? Sure, why not.

Dude, if Britney Spears dropped to her knees in front of you, you'd be done before she started.

a 6 pack to make her tolerable?? you'd have to hook me up to an IV filled with 6 KEGS to make me drunk enough...to have her "tolerable". ok, so i exaggerate but...the whole bad mother-white trash routine she's perfected...makes me cringe. i will bet she has THREE more kids, 2 more pimps...another husband...2 sex tapes, and another BAD BAD movie...before this luke cage flick comes out...any takers???

Fight the "Power?"
"Power Man" will work as a superhero comedy ensemble piece with first-person narrative by Cage. No '70s costumes unless it's a period film (you could always throw in a reference to the old costume if it's modernized). Currently, there's no actor that could pull him off well, so it looks like we'll be waiting for a while...

sure why not gimy? i'll take ol' britney for cowgal ride if you know

what i mean! i would take her to see a rodeo then she will get loaded and basically

beg for a quick taste of her favorite flavor popsicle: anybody who is not more pathetic

than her! which considering k-fed is more rspectable at this point that basically

includes everyone, except ***-fleck! she still deserves better and oh wow.. britney

sure likes licking every last ohhhh drop...mmmmm, oops i think she made me cum again

and thats not good cause she's toxic! jeez, i need new material but i still i am good

enough to write britney's next hit..."i'm not important anymore not yet ready to accept

being whore # 3 on flavor flavor."
