Do not mistake this changing of hands for a troubled project. This is a fine little horror movie, but the Weinsteins just took a bath on Grindhouse so I guess they're being a little extra-picky where the genre flicks are concerned. Their loss...
...is Senator Entertainment's gain. The company will release Jonathan Levine's Mandy Lane early next year on about 1,000 screens. So you'll have to wait a little longer, horror hounds, but it could be worse: The Weinsteins are sometimes known for just sticking movies on a shelf and forgetting about them entirely.
And for those who haven't heard about Mandy yet, I'll just say it's an old-school-style slasher flick in which the painfully beautiful Amber Heard must deal with the attentions of a decidedly ... angry ... admirer.
