Chan Returns Behind Scenes for Operation Condor 3
He'll star, write, and direct the sequel himself!
For Americans, Rush Hour 3 is a big sequel with lots of buzz. For the more select fans who followed Jackie Chan's career in Hong Kong, there is even bigger news about a sequel to one of Chan's most popular series.
"Next year, April the 1st, I start a new movie," Chan revealed. "I direct, I write my own script. It's called Operation Condor 3: Chinese Zodiac. Big action."

The Operation Condor series features Chan as an Indiana Jones-style adventurer pursuing mythical artifacts, with Chan's trademark style of action scenes. Perhaps the biggest find in part three will be Chan's return to directing.
"I haven't been directing for more than 10 years, even though I'm helping all my directors on the set. But now this time I'm totally in control. I write my own script. You'll see what happens.
This may be the most personal Jackie Chan movie in a decade. "Directing you can do a lot of things. I can put all my messages inside, I can put all my ideas inside. It's the feeling I create something."
Meanwhile, Chan is currently filming The Forbidden Kingdom, a Western take on the classic Chinese "Journey to the West" tale, with Jet Li and Collin Chou. He can also be seen soon in Brett Ratner's Rush Hour 3, out August 10.

Gimy writes: on Aug 01 2007 08:07 AM jesus, don't anybody comment on this why don'tcha's?! never seen any of the condor's(i've heard good things) but i may catch em now that i know what they're kind of about. just not a fan of subtitles or dubbing, it takes away from the action. i really hope Rush Hour is hilarious. although i liked Knocked Up, it was kind of overrated and had some blah moments. i want a start to finish...HILARIOUS movie. is it too much to ask... Typhoon20 writes: on Aug 01 2007 08:40 AM Cool, I love Jackie. Looking forward to this one. The man is like what, almost 60, and still going at it physically. Aging is a natural progression but with Jackie it's a shame, the things he could do at his peak, boy o boy. Still props to him for doing his own stunts at that age, though I'm going to overlook a couple movies like the medaliion and a couple more lame @ss movies he did, but all of his asian movies are top notch. Gimy writes: on Aug 01 2007 08:53 AM yeah i forgot to give props to him as well. you see some guys, most notabley segal who work with people and years(or even DURING the movie!!) they do interviews saying how fat and lazy he is, how he sucks at martial arts and he's a real jerk. chan just seems to keep uh...kickin', even at 60. can't believe he's that old though...but i've never heard anybody complain about him. heck, rush hour 3 has been in the makes for years now and he didn't gripe about tucker's whining. just waited...and waited...and waited, patiently from the little i know. ya don't always see that with stars (Reply to this) |

JUDGE DREDD writes: on Aug 01 2007 03:17 PM Operation condor was actually Army of god 2. Love Jackie chan films, and after operation condor I hope he n Owen Wilson team up again for a third SHANGHAI NOON! Damn, that first one was awsome! Shanghai knights wasnt too bad but NOON owned! Also its one of my favorite westerns. Shanghai noon 3 would be awsome if they took it back to the west and had them as Law-men like they should have done in part 2. (Reply to this) |
