Mad Max 4 Coming Soon?
As in "maybe even before Justice League" soon?
After over two decades, George Miller might finally be ready to take Mad Max past Beyond Thunderdome and onto Fury Road.
According to Moviehole's Clint Morris, one of the site's most reliable sources has tipped them off to the reopening of the Mad Max 4: Fury Road production quarters on Fox's Sydney lot. And that isn't all:
It sounds as if Miller will be working on this film, and "Justice League" concurrently -- the latter is also set up at Fox Studios -- as well as..."Happy Feet 2."
You read that right. If Moviehole's source is correct, Miller will be juggling three high-profile projects at once -- and the source even goes so far as to say that development on Mad Max 4 is now moving so quickly, it could actually reach screens before Justice League. But first, the casting call: Miller recently told Moviehole that he'd be using a younger leading man for the fourth Mad Max. Think he got any ideas during the recent Justice League casting sessions?

on Oct 26 2007 06:44 AM I hear Chris Pine is rather popular, these days, and he only has ONE mega-blockbuster character recreation going on. Compared to Miller, Pine is unemployed. (Reply to this) |

on Oct 26 2007 06:44 AM I absolutely refuse to see this movie without Mel in it. Can't have Mad Max without Max. Why don't they film the movie in frickin' New York while their at it! (Reply to this) |

on Oct 26 2007 06:47 AM ...for those who don't waste as much time on this site as I apparently do, Pine is playing Kirk in the 'Trek reboot. T'was a little piece of sarcasm. ..And for the record, Mad Max without Max is about as lame as Escape from [place to be escaped, here] without Kurt Russell, i.e., pretty friggin' lame. on Oct 26 2007 06:50 AM How can they go younger? Will it be a child of Max's? The mother being the girl who found him in the desert in Thunderdome. She flew away to neverland, had a kid and he returns to find out what happened to his Dad only to run into the son of the helicopter guy. Hy De Ho and Bye De Bye! (Reply to this) |

on Oct 26 2007 06:54 AM TITLE ALERT! "Mad Max 4: The Warrior of Fury Road - Return from Thunderdome (Back Out in the Outback)" This summer, make the return, don't back out and prepare to get MAD -- to the MAX! on Oct 26 2007 07:18 AM Despite, Gibson love hate relation with Jews and "Sugar Tits" I cant imagine a MAD MAX film without his performance. On the upisde, I guess that means no more LETHAL WEAPON films. But MADMAX or LETHAL WEAPON, for that matter, differs from say of CASINO ROYALE because that was a reboot to an already tired defunct franchise; even then Bond is merely an empty suite. But established characters such as Max are much harder to interchange for storyline purposes; because their is always a comparison to what first brought enjoyment for a film. (Reply to this) |

on Oct 26 2007 10:00 AM if they can get harrison ford for indie four they can get mel for max four, and if not mel I'm sure stallone would be more than happy to do it. In fact I think Mad Max And The Rocky Rambo would be an amazingly hilarious and bad-*** bloody piece of film. I can just see it now. Stallone hanging off a car going 100 mph with his signature scream, as the camera is swallowed by his mouth and the screen goes black. (Reply to this) |

on Oct 26 2007 10:04 AM Reading this has left me to ponder when and if Mel Gibson can really work again. I'm sure he will, but will it be 5 years from now? In what capacity? (Reply to this) |

on Oct 26 2007 12:03 PM Although I dearly love the Mad Max series, bringing back Max in this day and age seems rather strange. It really was a product of it's time. Nuclear apocalypse and punkrock bandit fears don't really occupy the imagination so much anymoe. And in retrospect seem kind of quaint. Maybe a reboot would work with different but similiar themes, but a continuation of before seems odd. (Reply to this) |
