Whoa...I knew about Nottingham, but not Body of Lies.... DiCaprio AND Crowe? :) And then, of course, Stones. Yay. Go, Mr. Scott, go! Woo!

Well to be fair dracus Robin Hood has been done alot in movies. So its not exactly something completely orginal. But I do see your point. Most of Scotts movies are really goods, so hopefully he will be able to bring something orginal to Nottingham.

I thought Riddley Scott was directoring a film version of "Blood Merdian" by Cormic Mcarthy. What happened to that? "No Country For Old Men" was a great Mcarthy adaptation, I was hoping after that, people might start paying more attention to Mcarthy's novels.

Definately, we all rest peacefully knowing there is still talent in the world of cinema.

Where did you hear Scott was doing Blood Meridian?

It IS a GREAT BOOK (although a tough read).

Have you read it? I'd say the book probably is still unfilmable (even in this era of Saw and Hostel). What I mean by that is that to mount the production in a way faithful to the book (it really is ABOUT gore, carnage, pedaphilia and depravity of a level never seen in american movies), the movie would cost considerably more than it could ever hope to make back.

Maybe I'm wrong?

Re Scott's plate being full, he's usually got 2-3 movies lined up he might do. He never gets them all done before something else catches his attention. Remember Tripolli? I think that one came pretty close to happening, and now it's ancient history.

He doesn't always finish off his dinner?

Well, 'Stones' does sound interesting, so I'm hoping it will be one of the projects he goes through with.

Technically speaking you are Samlane. However Nottingham hasn't been done before since it will be a complete reversal of what we have seen. This version will see Robin Hood played by Russell Crowe and his men be true villains while the sheriff of Nottingham will be the good guy. That's what's going to make Nottingham fun and original.

after a good year off (pun intended), scott is back in the ***-kicking seat. the 'blade runner' theatrical re-release looks ill (saw a big screen trailer with 'no country') and he's making excellent choices again. can he sit his brother down and school him to the game already? tony's busy playing with filters and music video edits while ridley continues to refine his craft.
