New Dark Knight Trailer, Synopsis Online!

Who's ready for a few minutes of awesome?

Okay, so you weren't one of the lucky IMAX viewers who were treated to that six-minute The Dark Knight prologue at screenings of I Am Legend last weekend. How about a new trailer for consolation?

Yes, that's right, The Dark Knight has a trailer -- and you can either watch or download it at A Taste for the Theatrical, the latest in a seemingly endless series of TDK websites. If, like us, you've been somewhat skeptical of all the Dark Knight hype, prepare to feel that skepticism give way to honest-to-gosh excitement -- this, friends, is a trailer.

Oh, and by the way, there's a new Dark Knight synopsis on the loose, and it's been printed for all the world to see by our pals at IGN Movies. Take a gander, and then hurry over to watch that trailer!

I think Heath Ledger may have been the dead on choice to play the Joker. I'll admit I was skeptical but his look, the voice, and the laugh all seem right on. I'm freakin excited now

I love the trailer! It looks amazing! And Ledger looks unbelievable scary, really really well done! I hope i can go to imax next week and see more footage :D

I saw the trailer last Friday and I'm so excited for this film! I truly believe it's going to be the best comic book film since Spider-Man 2.

Heath is dead on. I'd want him to hear him say "Where does he get those wonderful toys?" though....that would make this movie perfect.

Even if he doesn't, still looking to be one of the best comic movies.

Saw the trailer twice in theaters this weekend (snuck into I AM Legend, then left before it started). Great. This is such a different take on Burton's 1989 original, it's much more darker and sinister. No Harvey Dent in the trailer, but I guess his role will be limited. I haven't been skeptical at all during the production of THE DARK KNIGHT. I've been on board since Ledger was announced.

I saw the 6 min prologue on Friday and did it ever set a tone for this movie , not just for the Joker , but for look and feel of Gotham , Batman and what he faces and the entire movie . The trailer is also one of the best ones i have seen in a long time.

I was worried about over hype for this movie and it not living up to the hype , especially the hype Ledger has gotten for his Joker portrayal , I too was worried he could not pull this off , but after seeing the trailer and prologue I can 100% say he has nailed the Joker to perfection . This is not your campy , corny slightly crazy Joker we have seen . This is a sadistic , psychotic , really creepy Joker and after hearing his lines and seeing him in the trailer you will agree ...

This very well may be the best Comic Book Movie ever come July ...

And here I thought Harvey Dent's arc was supposed to be the focus of this film.

I'm very impressed, though I have to say "haven't we seen enough semi's flipping *** over axel in the past couple of years?"

can we stop with the term "comic book movie" with this? is anything else really NEAR these movies in that genre??? what, spiderman? i'm sick of that term, mainly because it groups this series with sh3tty laughable flicks and corny garbage. look at the actors in these movies, they're all established and oscar caliber. cept maybe katie holmes. but...she goooone. i just think this series is in a league of its own. whomever made the casting choices...they deserve a sh3tload of credit.

The only thing that is not absolutely flawless here is the moralizing of Alfred. Can someone explain to me why writers/directors always include the 'wise' man in each film that comes up with trite advice about determination or courage? Noone in the real world respects or consults the wise anymore.

I would say that an essential essence of batman is the fantasy of accomplishing good in an impulsive and reckless manner, by adhering to a inner code of unknown origin rather than some external authority.

Well... that looked real fine. I guess the point of this trailer was to showcase the Joker and it did just that. I cannot help but feel though that the film isn't going to center so heavily on him as the trailer may suggest. Or maybe it will.... I'm just trying to figure out their angle.

That trailer is pretty decent. I'd be curious to see how the general public reacts to it. It's one thing when someone named "Dark Knight Jr." reacts well to it, quite another when someone else reacts well. I personally don't have any complaints about the trailer, though I'd like to see an extended scene with the Joker, just to see how Ledger pulls it off. It takes more than a compilation of one-liners to get a really good feel for that. His costumes are great though, that's fun to see. They didn't show anything that was really new or groundbreakingly fun, but all around, a great trailer.

Chances are slim, generally because they will see this as a comic book movie, which as someone pointed out, tarnishes it with the same brush as say fantastic-4 and x-men. Even though, this IS a league of its own (so far). but i also think Begins was a league of its own, Not 100% the way i would personally liked to have seen Batman portrayed but as close as were gonna get.

Batman is my favorite character ever created!(well, aside from Darth Vader) And I would love to see a Batman film scoop a load of Oscars, partially to show the rest of the general public that good story's exist in a comic-book world as well as any popular Novel etc...

Nice trailer.

Anyone else think it's weird for the shots of the city skyline to have visible corporate names on the roofs? Wouldn't that be pretty easy to take out? Especially since it's supposed to be Gotham though it's obviously Chicago from looking at it.

Not a big deal, but it was a bit distracting.
