I'm not thrilled with the new organization yet...but maybe I'll get used to it. One thing that's really bugging me is I can't find the running times of the movies anywhere! This is an important piece of information that many people will want to see!

What a mess! The new RT design looks like it was done by my son's highschool computer class. The banner add cuts off access to half the content at the top of the page. The useful information that used to run down the left side of each movie page (trivia, links, etc.) is either gone or impossible to locate. The changes to RottenTomatoes brings to mind the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

this site is a mess. please go back to old version until its really ready.information you used to have is now missing. saw iv is coming out on 1/22 yet it is not showing up. when you click on any move it no longer has movie detail link, cast link, or dvd release date link.so far this site update is a bust.

I go to RT for the reviews. I don't care what the reviewers look like, what they're names are - I just want to know what publication is the source of the review. In your new format, you've put more emphasis on the name and photo of the reviewer, and buried the publication name in the lower right hand corner on the reviewer's page. Doesn't make it easy to scan, not good.

This is much worst than the previous site. I used RT for movie reviews, and critics versus users comparison. I always found the site very user friendly. I stopped using IMDB because of poor reviews and reliability - rotten tomatoes was an amazing alternative. Now I have to look for a new site because of how poor the usability of this site has become. I just logged on to the new site 20 minutes ago , and it only took that long to figure out what a huge mistake you guys made.Hope something changes.-Basil

I've been using RT for a few years now, but never really needed to register. Until today, so I could say how much I HATE the new site design!!!
I still can't find all the information I used to get from the site; no idea where it went.
Cream of the Crop is MIA. Whatever happened to the "About" tab? Often it had so much more info than the simplistic Synopsis on the new pages. Much more irritating changes.
What everyone else is complaining about 1

OK, this post interface blows too.... no wonder there are so many double-posts in these comments - you can hardly tell the post "submit" was successful!
Jan 20 - 08:10 PM
In the grand spirit of piling on, and with the feeble hope that somebody at RT will wake up and smell the ketchup, this remake is an obvious disaster. It's shaping up as a web reno calamity of historic magnitude.
Maybe you should turn this ship around...?
Jan 20 - 08:31 PM
Seriously. This is the next story. Like remember when MySpace killed Friendster? Remember when Rotten Tomatoes came out with the worst redesign ever and everyone bailed? If there's ANY chance you can revert to the old site (and I doubt there is), please, please do so asap. Whatever you do, don't let the hacks who came up with this site have a hand in whatever it is you do next.Such a bummer. Good luck, Matt.

I just found MetaCritic, thanks to a tip from one of the commenters above. It's exactly what RT used to be/should be. That's it--I'm gone. Got all I need over there.
Jan 20 - 09:15 PM
Thanks! I've been looking for a new website! MetaCritic here I come.
Jan 20 - 09:55 PM
Hey! I thought the same thing when I went over to Metacritic to see if that changed too! It feels like the old Rotten Tomatoes site! Easy to read and grouped sensibly and very fast to get whether a film is fresh or rotten. I had always switched between here and there, but USED to come here first.
Jan 21 - 01:30 AM
MetaCritic is pretty cool--thanks! Of course I'll keep revisiting RT, just to read all the posts trashing the new design. They're the most interesting aspect of the site now!
Jan 20 - 11:36 PM
Just for the record, I also only registered to post my dismay with the new site. And I'm also about to check out MetaCritic. If it provides me a quickie user-friendly selection of legit movie reviews, as RT now no longer does, I won't be back.
Big mistake. Strange mistake.
Jan 21 - 04:34 PM
I'll try metacritic.com, as well, and for the same reason I used to love RT: all I want is a quick compendium of reviews, and I too give not a single, solitary crap abpout how the critics look.
Jan 22 - 12:26 PM
That's totally as in totally baffled, totally bewildered, totally unbelievable, total BS. I signed up just to add my voice to the others here to ask you to revert to the old format. I guess it has to do with making money so it is probably not going to happen. The old format was fine with a quick search and presto the reviews were right there. Now we get a google search with umpteen hits and then multiple tabs to look at the reviews. Some recent movies have no reviews? Never saw that before. Get rid of the faces and revert to a name and source; thats all we want. So I am a user for years, member for a day, and now done with RT (suggestions for alternate sites from others?) Sorry Matt, but you had a good thing going and you threw it away.
Jan 20 - 11:48 PM
Bye bye RT.I'm moving to Metacritic, their design is not so great too but at least reading stuff on it is not a pain to the eyes.
Jan 21 - 01:27 AM
I signed up purely to post this, and add my voice to the myriad of others who have basically said the same thing...
the new site is AWFUL!
I hate it, I can't see the reviews as easily as I used to, and theres too much going on...
I really liked the old site... always came back for the reviews, but am sorry to say I'll be looking about for a new one now... shame :(
Jan 21 - 02:27 AM
This is awful. No Cream of the Crop. I used to spend time on this site, now I'm trying to figure out how to change it back. Because of the change I've at least found out about metacritic and may wind up using that. The new RT page is cluttered, confusing and unappealing. PLEASE change it back.
Jan 21 - 02:41 AM
Ok, I can handle the new homepage although I prefered the previous style.
But, I can't stand the new movie pages. They're unorganized and too small. Whatever happened to havig cream of the crop sepearately? And they screen doesn't even fit in my window.
Why must companies find it necessary to change. I doubt it makes for anymore visitors and it just discourages and frustrates loyal fans. Unless there were a lot of complaints (which I don't understand why there would be) it was unecessary to change the whole outlook.
P.S. (IMDB did the same thing, but they made an option for some visitors to keep the same look. I chose that option and remain happy. Maybe that's a possiblity.)
Jan 21 - 02:42 AM
Rotten Tomatoes...BETA?!?You gotta be freakin kidding me.
Jan 21 - 02:56 AM
I don't care much about design. But...
...I WANT THE "VIEW ALL" LINK...
back in the movie section, I want to see all reviews at once. You want to create more PIs by spreading them over several pages. But it's far less user friendly.
Jan 21 - 04:25 AM
THERE ARE SO MANY USERS, THAT DON'T LIKE THE NEW RT LOOK..ALMOST 90%!!! HEY,EDITORS,WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? DON'T YOU SEE THAT WE ALL WANT THE OLD RT,THAT WE LOVED!!!!!!!!!! DO YOU ACTUALLY READ ALL THESE COMMENTS? I RATHER DOUBT IT!!!
Jan 21 - 06:36 AM
The site has lost its personality. Type faces too small and hard to read. The Tomatometer has lost authority. Red and green were the right colors. This look is anemic, timid, over-fussed-with. The old site was pretty much perfect. And it was fun. This one seems bureaucratic. Hard to read the names of sites under the quotes. A daily disappointment.
