I'm definitely going to pick up TDK, HB:II, Iron Man, and I will rent Hancock Unrated on Blu ray to see if its better. I'll rent The Fall, Ebert also loved The Cell which I didn't like very much. The KILL BILL fills like another slap on the face from the Wiensteins, I am willing to bet a lot that they will release THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR conveniently when INGLORIOUS BASTARDS comes out. Also Jet Li should finally retire after The Mummy 3, so bad... I'm excited about Speed Racer next week, that will look great on Blu Ray. Oh there were some other cool DVD news I read about the other day like THE WIRE (better then Sopranos) and DEADWOOD are coming out in box sets in December, and there is going to be a Blu Ray release of Southland Tales with Richard Kelly audio commentary (I want a Director's Cut!)... Also Jen I love the new DVD news set up! (Reply to this) |

tomwaitsjr writes: on Sep 08 2008 07:55 PM Thanks for the re-cap Jen. I'm getting The Fall, Forbidden Kingdom, and (I don't remember why) a new release called "How to Rob a Bank" with Nick Stahl. . . .and about the Crazy 88s. I'm pretty sure Tarrantinto got that name from Kid Rock's "Rebel without a Cause" CD. (Reply to this) |

nathanpoitras writes: on Sep 08 2008 08:55 PM I'm getting the Kill Bills on Blu as well as Cool Hand Luke. Not a huge release week, but there'll be plenty of those to come in the next month and a half. (Reply to this) |

blattman writes: on Sep 08 2008 11:53 PM I enjoyed Forbidden Kingdom. It was Wizard of Oz meets the Karate Kid, but fun to watch for Jet Li and Jackie Chan. Fun and fluff, pure saturday matinee stuff. (Reply to this) |

collex writes: on Sep 11 2008 11:02 AM Jen, I'm disappointed you din't have a "If you rent only one DVD this week, rent this one" comment this week.(well, you had one, but about buying a movie we've already seen) The first time I listenend to your comment, I rent the Secret and really liked it. Then I wanted to rent Son of Rambow, but couldn't find it! Just to say I really like when you make this kind of comment. On another topic, I HATE Chucky. He frighten me out. I will never wtach one of his movie. Not bold enough (Reply to this) |
