RoboGeisha: 2009's Most Insane Trailer?
Transforming Japanese schlock-bot teaser is like two fried shrimp daggers to the eye
by Luke Goodsell | July 01, 2009

It's lucky the Academy Awards have expanded their Best Picture Nominee category to 10 because here comes next year's first entry. RoboGeisha, Noboru Iguchi's delicate meditation on feminism in Japan, is your typical awards-baiting costume melodrama: Geisha assassins who kill adversaries with deadly swords and chainsaws sprouting from their mouths, transform into tanks, have machine-gun busts, katana-sword hips and... use shrimp tempura daggers to take out the eyes of villains. And that's just the half of it -- we can't quite describe certain other elements here, so be warned: this isn't PG-13 material.

On a side note, who is this gravelly genius doing the voice-over -- and can he be the new Don LaFontaine?

"Geisha is... robot."

Move over Chiyo Sakamoto, there's a new geisha in town, and if you don't, Robo-Geisha is going to sprout a blade from her anus and decapitate you.

Somewhere there is a kid, sitting in a basement, draped w/ anime posters, drooling over this trailer.

Interesting. Is this the sequel to MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA?

I notice they have a pleasent dance scene.

A sure-fire meditation. Never has the camera captured such grace.

My goodness that's awful! The sword in the @ss or swords popping out of the @sses were just brutal. Clearly, some filmakers are just bored and decide to make something so silly, and stupid that it turns out to be entertaining so some degree. Who gave this the greenlight?

Imagine you were the writer and you are trying to pitch this movie to a studio produver: Writer: "i want to make a film where geishas get stabbed in the *** by a samurai sword" Produver: "I'm SOLD!" LOL

There's just one question.

Q: "RoboGeisha". Great Movie? Greatest Movie?
