Season Info

Season 3 of the Danish drama opens with Birgitte Nyborg (Sidse Babett Knudsen) out of politics, but not public life: she's pulling in big bucks on the speaker circuit. That's not to say she's content, however, and given that she disagrees with the new direction of her old party, the Moderates, she sees no recourse but one: a political comeback. As the season progresses, her return to politics is predictably bumpy; and a new political party, the New Democrats, threatens to upset the old order?if

Borgen plays like a more astringent version of The West Wing, a show it clearly borrows from and improves on.

February 7, 2014 Full Review Source: NPR

This show is top-class political drama, a badge of middle-class belonging and, for the British, also a kind of utopian sci-fi fantasy.

November 18, 2013 Full Review Source: Independent

The beauty of Sidse Babbett Knudsen's performance is that you can tell exactly when Birgitte starts wishing she could kill everyone in the room telekinetically.
