Out of Commission

Synopsis

As Mordecai and Rigby are riding the cart, they realize that they are late for an employee conference. When they make it to the house, Benson announces that the park has extra money and was able to afford a new, sophisticated golf cart. Benson tells Mordecai and Rigby that they must take the old cart to the dump by the end of the day. Because Mordecai and Rigby have had that particular cart ever since they were hired, they were reluctant to follow Benson's orders, but Benson said he would fire them if they didn't. Mordecai and Rigby then take the cart to an airport to watch planes take off, and when they (purposely) spill soda on the cart, it comes to life. Mordecai and Rigby quickly make friends with the cart, and try to savor their final hours with each other by doing all sorts of things together, such as going to a bar. After a long day, the cart constantly tries to stall having to be brought to the dump. Finally, the cart is ready to be trashed, but in a unique kind of way. It wishes to be thrown off a cliff while carrying foreign fireworks. Mordecai lights the fireworks and pushes the cart off the cliff. After it lands in the water, Benson calls Mordecai and Rigby and tells them that he made a mistake when counting the park's funding and couldn't afford the new cart, thus making him tell them to bring the old cart back.
