Season Info

Danny DeVito joins the cast as the rest of the gang return for a second season of outrageous misadventures. Dennis (Glenn Howerton) runs for office at one point, and Frank (DeVito) puts Charlie (Charlie Day) in charge of the bar. Other familiar faces in Season 2 include Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson.

Charlie Gets Crippled

Charlie is rendered wheelchair-bound following a nasty accident, and as the gang attempts to figure out how to get the most mileage out of their recently-crippled friend Dennis and Dee's estranged father Frank (Danny DeVito) makes an attempt to reconnect with his long lost children.

The Gang Goes Jihad

The owner of the bar next door stops by Paddy's to announce that his property line reaches right to the middle of their establishment, and as a result half of the bar will be demolished. Later, as the gang resorts to extremes in order to save the bar, Frank discovers that his wife is in town.

Dennis and Dee Go on Welfare

Frank has become too much to handle, leaving Dennis and Dee with no other option than to quit their jobs and go on welfare. As a result, the weight that Dennis and Dee would help to carry is shifted directly over to Mac and Charlie.

Mac Bangs Dennis' Mom

After Barbara hook up with Dennis in an attempt to make Frank jealous, Dennis becomes obsessed with the idea of revenge through bedding Mac's mom.

Hundred Dollar Baby

Dee has been mugged, and now Frank is going to teach his daughter how to box so she can defend herself on the streets. Upon arriving at the gym, Frank spots his old boxing adversary and an old rivalry is reignited for the next generation. Meanwhile, Dennis and Mac scheme to make some quick cash by entering Charlie into an underground fighting competition.

The Gang Gives Back

The gang is arrested for arson and sentenced to community service. Meanwhile, as Frank tries to reestablish a bond with Dennis, Charlie begins attending AA meetings in hopes of getting better acquainted with his favorite waitress.

The Gang Exploits a Miracle

When the gang discovers a stain on the office wall that bears an uncanny resemblance to the Virgin Mary, Charlie, Dennis, and Frank scheme to exploit the Biblical blemish for all its worth. Mac and Dee have serious reservations about the scam, and later Dee runs into a person from the past who stirs forbidden feelings deep within her.

When Frank displays a profound insight into politics, Dennis decides to run for office under his father's guidance.

Charlie Goes America All Over Everybody's Ass

An argument over the constitution has led the gang to run Paddy's as an establishment where moral and behavioral boundaries no longer exist. Meanwhile, Frank takes advantage of the situation by opening a dangerous gambling ring in the bar, and Charlie attempts to display his love for America by performing on the street with Dee - who uses the situation as an opportunity to display her finely tuned acting skills.

Dennis and Dee Get a New Dad

When Dee receives a message from a man claiming to be her real father, she and Dennis rejoice at the idea that they may not be Frank's offspring after all. Meanwhile, Mac pays a long overdue visit to his father, who is currently serving an extended prison sentence.

You need a light touch to carry off such potent humor, and sometimes Sunny's approach is too heavy-handed.

Philadelphia is looking for a bigger score from its old pros. DeVito the dad just wants to be part of the gang, and the foursome, kicking and screaming and poking fun at this whole sitcom gang concept, makes room.
