The longer it goes on, the more it becomes a moving, weirdly thoughtful examination of privilege and power.
It was a nice break for the show and a welcome return to the procedural format that the series favored in its first season.
Ms. Washington continues to give the same tightly wound performance she's given from the start, one that's weirdly limited yet undoubtedly largely responsible for the show's fanatical following.
Picking up just 22 minutes from where last season left us clamoring for more, with Olivia Pope's name leaked to the press as President Grant's mistress, Scandal hit the ground running and never looked back.
Anything that has me this invested after a long dry summer is firing at all cylinders, at the top of its game.
Is it just me or is Scandal the hottest show anywhere right now? It doesn't matter what time of day it is, someone somewhere seems to be watching Scandal reruns, talking about Scandal reruns, Tweeting about Scandal or buying the latest Scandal fashion...
