Season Info
Season 13 finds the creative staff trying to keep up with a changing culture: Homer becomes addicted to medical marijuana, Moe renovates his bar to appeal to hipsters and Bart starts an online comic based on his father. On the sillier side of things, the episode "Tales From the Public Domain" takes the stories of Odysseus, Joan of Arc and Hamlet and plugs members of the Simpsons family into them. Prominent guest stars this season include Reese Witherspoon, who voices a girl both Bart and his

Treehouse of Horror XII
"Treehouse of Horror XIII" finds Homer cloned; Dr. Hibbert turning the family into half animals; and Springfield invaded by zombie cowboys.
The Parent Rap
One morning, Homer Simpson (voice of Dan Castellaneta) decides he doesn't feel like giving his son Bart (voice of Nancy Cartwright) and his best friend Milhouse (voice of Pamela Hayden) a ride to school, which turns out to be a bad choice, since Bart ends up stealing a police car on his way to Springfield Elementary. Bart and his folks end up in front of the usually lenient Judge Snyder (voice of Harry Shearer), but at the last minute the judge goes on vacation, with the stern Judge Constance Harm (voice of Jane Kaczmarek) taking his place. Harm decides Homer and Marge (voice of Julie Kavner) have done a bad job of raising Bart, and orders the boy to be tethered to Homer at all times. This soon proves wildly impractical and Marge decides it isn't helping, so she cuts the cable. This angers Judge Harm, who responds by putting Homer and Marge in public stocks; they eventually escape, and Homer plots revenge against the judge, which typically goes awry. "The Parent Rap" first aired on November 11, 2001.
Homer the Moe
Ill-tempered bartender Moe Szyslak (voice of Hank Azaria) has been in even more of a funk than usual, and needing a reminder of what drew him into the mixed drink business in the first place, he heads back to the bartending school where he first learned his craft. Homer Simpson (voice of Dan Castellaneta) is put in charge of Moe's tavern while he's gone, which quickly becomes even more of a sinkhole on his watch. Upon returning, Moe decides his bar needs a makeover, and he transforms it into "M," an upscale nightspot for Springfield's most pretentious hipsters. Homer and his pals no longer feel welcome there at their regular watering hole, and he responds by setting up a tavern in his garage, using the legal loophole that he and his friends actually enjoying the facilities of their hunting club. Offended that his once-loyal customers are swilling beer somewhere else, Moe calls Homer on his ruse and insists that he and his pals actually go hunting for their Thanksgiving dinner. Featuring an appearance by R.E.M. (who appear at Homer's tavern under the mistaken belief they're playing an environmental benefit), "Homer The Moe" first aired on November 9, 2001.
A Hunka Hunka Burns in Love
Julia Louis-Dreyfus gives voice to a young woman wooed by Burns, who drafts Homer to help him cultivate a more youthful image.
The Blunder Years
A hypnotist unlocks a repressed memory in Homer, who recalls childhood times with Moe, Carl and Lenny---and his finding a corpse. Paul Newman and singer Judith Owen have voice cameos.
She of Little Faith
A model rocket that Homer and Bart shoot off accidentally destroys the church, which must sell advertising to make ends meet. Lisa is so disgusted she becomes a Buddhist, with the aid of guest star Richard Gere.
Brawl in the Family
A social worker is assigned to try to bring the family together after police respond to a fight between Bart and Homer during a game of Monopoly.
Sweets and Sour Marge
Ben Stiller plays a sugar company's CEO who draws Marge's ire after Springfield is declared the "World's Fattest Town."
Jaws Wired Shut
An(other) accident forces Homer's jaws to be wired shut, and improved listening skills result in a kinder, gentler---and more boring---Homer.
Half Decent Proposal
Now fabulously wealthy, Marge's grabby prom date Artie Ziff (Jon Lovitz) offers a million dollars for a weekend with her that, he says, will have "no funny stuff." The Simpsons agree when they realize the money will help their marriage---by paying for an operation that will cure Homer's snoring.
The Bart Wants What It Wants
Reese Witherspoon plays film star Rainier Wolfcastle's daughter, whose crush on Bart is unrequited. Wolfgang Puck has a cameo.
The Lastest Gun in the West
Dennis Weaver plays an old cowboy star whose newest pal, Bart, tries to land him a guest shot on Krusty's show.
The Old Man and the Key
Grampa Simpson regains his driver's license to woo a new woman (Olympia Dukakis) but is goaded into a race by senior punks.
Tales from the Public Domain
In a trilogy of classics parodies, Homer seeks to destroy Troy as Odysseus; Lisa's Joan of Arc leads the French; and Bart plays Hamlet, with Moe as Claudius.
Blame It on Lisa
The Who intervenes after Homer leads a revolt against a new area code that splits the town along lines of affluence. Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Zac Starkey provide voices.
Weekend at Burnsie's
The band Phish has a cameo in an episode in which Dr. Hibbert prescribes medicinal marijuana for Homer's eye injury, and the resulting joviality nets Homer a promotion from Mr. Burns.
Gump Roast
Two of the great simpletons of contemporary popular culture, Homer Simpson and Forrest Gump, come together in this "clip show" built around highlights from past episodes of The Simpsons. Homer (voice of Dan Castellaneta), waits in the park and chats with strangers as he waits to attend a tribute "roast" being held in his honor at the Springfield Friar's Club. On the dais, a number of Homer's friends, family and acquaintances share stories of the many foolish but entertaining things he's done over the years, but the event takes a turn for the worse when Kang (voice of Harry Sheared) and Kodos (also voiced by Castellaneta), a pair of predatory space aliens, arrive and announce they have come to destroy the world. Demanding one good reason to spare the humans of Earth, Springfield's most eminent citizens have a hard time coming up with an answer until someone turns to baby Maggie Simpson. "Gump Roast" first aired on April 21, 2002.
I Am Furious Yellow
Encouraged by comic-book guru Stan Lee (in a cameo), Bart creates a strip about Homer that gets onto the Internet.
The Sweetest Apu
Apu's fling with the Squishee Lady is caught live by Homer, but on tape by his wife Manjula (Jan Hooks). James Lipton has a cameo.
Little Girl in the Big Ten
Two college girls mistake Lisa for a peer; Bart lives inside a bubble to contain the infection he got from a Chinese mosquito. Former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky has a cameo.
The Frying Game
Homer's community service for threatening an endangered species involves helping a kindly senior, who meets an untimely death. Carmen Electra and Frances Sternhagen are guest voices.
Poppa's Got a Brand New Badge
Homer starts a security company that ultimately replaces the cops---and runs afoul of mobster Fat Tony (Joe Mantegna).
