The very talented director Stephen Frears brings us one of his best films in "The Queen." A perfect film - not too long, stunning performances, great cinematography, beautiful costumes. "The Queen" which felt suprisingly short (could have gone on another 30 minutes in my opinion), is one of the best films I have seen this year. I hope that it gets nominated for Best Picture, as it deserves it greatly. Helen Mirren is deserving of every Best Actress award she has won so far this awards season, as she has alot more to win, including her first Oscar that she will win in Feb. Michael Sheen is also great as PM Tony Blair, and James Cromwell is also fantastic as Prince Philip. The score by Alexandre Desplat is also effective, as he is one of my favorite composers, ever since I heard his score for the film "Birth" which should have been nominated for an Oscar. But I do give this film a 10 because it is the best film I have seen this year, and if someone asked me what a perfect film was, I would simply say, "The Queen."
