I would have given all the money away too. I really liked this movie. I watched it last night (recorded from TV) and I loved every minute of it except the scary parts withg the burglars.
One of my favorite movies of all time is "War of the Buttons" which, like this movie, is about a bunch of kids in Great Britain somewhere trying to do good but really just being kids. I also liked Billy Elliot (British kid trying to be a ballet dancer) but probably not as much.
Millions was a gorgeous movie with all the elements that you would want on your British kid/ feel-good movie: dead parents, siblings, school headmasters and an unrecognizable town. It was gorgeous and beautiful and moving.
If you are a very grown-up person (like the kind that have mortgages and plans for the future) you might not like it. I am the kind of grown up person that donates stuff to Goodwill when I buy something new and will choose chocolate over duck or lobster every single time. I loved the movie and I loved the kid for trying to give all of the money away to the poor.
If you are a grown up with mortgages and a lawnmower you might just hate it. So please don't watch it. I don't want you insulting this movie just because you would have invested the money in a high yield fund.
