"A History of Violence" is the best film so far this year. Viggo Mortensen gives a knockout performance, as do Maria Bello, William Hurt, and the son (I don't know his name). But he who stole the scenes for me was Ed Harris ("Don't forget your shoes!"). In an era devoid of great bad guys, this movies gives us two. Ed Harris SHOULD be a shoe in for best supporting actor, but he probably won't because this movie is just too original. It'll probably get a best screenplay nomination (i.e. Eternal Sunshine, Memento) nothing major. But let it be known, this movie is the reason I go to the movies.
