Big on shock value...and not much else. Bruno pushes the boundaries around a bit before quickly demolishing them with little regard for the audience. Where "Borat" found inventive and innovative ways to generate the laughs, "Bruno" just kicks in the door with one shocking moment after another until all one can do is look on with horror and disdain. Calling this a "train wreck" would be an understatement, try a train wreck coupled with a fifty-car pile-up and then throw in a plane crash for good measure. It's completely disgusting to watch, but you just can't look away. It gets points for pulling the curtain WAY BACK on the ugly, stupid side that people tend to show, and how homophobia is not just a hate issue but a mental illness. Also the fact that Sacha Baron Cohen is still alive is a complete and total miracle.
