I'm in a New Jersey state of mind (think a Bon Jovi version of the Billy Joel song). I'm much happier now that I've watched the current episode of The Knights Of Prosperity. It's really funny, with Kevin Michael Richardson's Rockefeller Butts getting the best lines, as usual. This time o[font=Georgia][size=3]ur heroes went to Atlantic City. People really don't film enough in AC and had I known they were here filming, well, I would have read about it somewhere, I'm sure. I'm just happy to see somewhere familiar on the small screen.

The premise of the series: Eugene (Donal Logue, above) is a janitor who dreams of more. More money, that is. He puts together a band of bandits who are no more thieves than I am. I pilfered a manila file folder today. That's the extent of my thievery. The six would probably never speak to one another in the real world. Here they are thick as thieves! Couldn't resist. They decide to rob Mick Jagger (who swaggers through every once in a while) because he's got more than he needs! I can't say enough how funny it is!

Watching this online is an experience. I have a run of the mill Dell computer. I can usually figure out what's wrong by clicking on the click here to see what's wrong button. And I finally sprang for the dsl so you'd think it'd be easy to watch stuff online. No, I have to change my popup settings, practically uninstall my firewall and clear my cache every couple days instead of once a month or so as before. Even doing that doesn't guarantee I can watch anything. So frustrating. I am slowly catching up with Ugly Betty. I didn't watch until the Golden Globes and now I'm hooked. I thought it would be a Devil Wears Prada retread but it's not. Betty is endearing and I'm not the most sympathetic person. Oh and since I can't seem to figure out how to rate this above, I give Knights of Prosperity an 8/10 and Ugly Betty also an 8/10. They're decent shows, you should watch so they aren't cancelled.

Sorry for the long winded diatribe on The Queen. Too much time on my hands.

Happy and healthy new year, everyone. :D

    Today

    Goodbye, Terri.

I'm sorry your life became such a media circus. Today I heard an interview on NPR with people who knew you when you were growing up. They spoke fondly of you and I'm glad I heard it. They also said you were a private person who would have hated seeing yourself in the news. I have to say if it were my life, I wouldn't want my family to do that to me. No matter what my state of consciousness was.

I wish your family well. I hope they don't prolong their pain and fight more.

    Rest in peace.

    Metro Girl

    Posted on 12/11/04 11:59 AM | Last edited on 12/11/04 11:43 AM

Metro Girl is a book by Janet Evanovich, who writes mystery novels featuring her main character, Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter who lives in Trenton and solves mysteries. Metro Girl is not about Stephanie Plum. Pity. I love Stephanie Plum, in a non-sexual, good girl to have as a girlfriend kinda way. I also want to have my way with Ranger and Joe Morelli. And these are fictional men!

Metro Girl is about Alexandra Barnaby, who lives in Baltimore and is a wiz with car engines. She receives a message from her brother and determines from the message he's in trouble and wackiness ensues! She winds up in South Florida (which is already well-covered in the Carl Hiaasen/Dave Barry books, among others) with a Nascar driver. The fact that she winds up in South Florida more or less ensures she will come across wackiness. Most of my family has moved to Florida (from the middle to Key West) and let's just say they're home there.

This book was just okay. Normally, I read a Janet Evanovich book in about a day. I had this one hanging around for a week. I am going to mail it to Florida with the Christmas presents so my aunt and cousins can read it. It got better towards the end but still didn't leave me the same way Stephanie and her family and friends leave me! Maybe I will reread Visions of Sugar Plums to get a Stephanie fix.
