Too many piling up to let them slide as entries...too busy to give them proper treatment...

I thought you'd like No Country a bit more, but a 7 is pretty good.

Oh, and wow, same rating for the Simpsons Movie. Agreeing is fun.

I liked No Country a lot, actually. Consider I never give a first view more than '8', preferring the higher ratings for movies that have held up to repeat viewings. My '7' is like somebody else's '9', I find.

One of these days I have to do some rescores based on repeat watchings...but man, I don't seem to find energy to even fill in my entries in the last year or so, but on the flip side I'm watching way more films.

I intended this site to connect me with people that would give recommendations that are patterned on my tastes that I may not have heard of otherwise. That is working quite well for me.

Best of the holidays to you, Yum. Thanks for stopping in to my threadbare journal. heh heh

I'd say that's about right for No Country actually... I finally saw it yesterday, and I'm still reflecting on it. It didn't blow me away as much as my favourites of theirs did on first viewing though.

Hope you have an outstanding 2008 Sedsey!

When I saw it, the lights came up at the end and I delighted in the fact that nobody in the seats knew how to react, and the mood was somber as we filed out in perfect quiet. I was bursting at the seams to point the fact out to my friend, but didn't want to break the golden silence.

As soon as we cleared the doors, though, I happily noted that occurance while saying "now I like it more!". Sure, it's no Big Lebowski, but it was a groovy effort that I still appreciated.

Apologies for a lack of contact during your trying times. Even as an online friend I feel remiss somewhat, as a few thoughts here and there are a small effort towards a highly valued contact that I hope to meet in person one day.

Best wishes to you and yours...what have the cats built lately? Mine are well behaved but still like to play games of challenge, but for my first experience with these animals I'd say I am hooked, and glad I "saved them" from their free roaming previous home.

As I think about it, my appreciation for NCfOM is growing. It'll still probably be only second tier Coens for me, but that's still pretty good...

There's no need to feel remiss about the past year - I appreciated your thoughts on the way through. I'm just glad that the whole thing appears to be over now, which is a substantial relief. Meeting in person is definitely still on the agenda too. :)

I'm really glad that you are enjoying your cats! I think it's definitely good to have them - ours are pretty consistently fun. And the new one that we got at the start of last year, Denali, is just fantastic. They've not been up to too much in the way of projects, though I think they might be considering building an armillary sphere...

You've been sounding in good spirits for a while now - I hope that's a correct interpretation.
