Chris Hemsworth fits the custom. He also has some sense of humor and has star power in the lead role. Special effects are great. 3D on the same level as Clash of the Titans.
Story is weak. Character development poor. Every character is one dimensional except for Thor, who is like 1.3 dimensional, since he has the story arch of going from arrogant warrior to sacrificial savior in 48 hours.
In my honest opinion, story and character are required for a movie to be good. Thor is lacking in these department. I felt the action meaningless because I couldn't root for any of the characters, I just couldn't care about them, even if I wanted to.
The only thing that surprises me about "Thor" is how well it is being received from critics outside the US. That may change when the movie gets its release in US next week.

Action scenes and special effects well executed while character development of the three heroes given better time. The director shows courage in not rushing the story forward, leaving long and calm, almost silent scenes, which is something missing from previous over-cluttered installments.
