World's Fastest Indian is a kiwi of a time. I thought Anthony Hopkins' potrayel of a New Zealander was amazing. This film is about famous speed motorcyclist Burt Monro. It is said to be one hell of a true story, and it was. Burt Monro, played by Hopkins, is an older gentlemen who is around his mid 60's to lower 70's and has been setting the land speed record in Australia and New Zealand with his old Indian motorcycle. Burt now wants to live out his dream andgo to America to set the land speed record at Bonneville Raceway in Utah.
After taking a mortgage out on his home, Burt leaves to go live out his dream. On his way he struggles with understanding the American way and how cruel some of the Americans will treat a foreighn person. He also meets some great characters on the way who will go out and do anything to help Burt succeed.
This film was one hell of a film and found that Anthony Hopkins potrayal of Burt Monro was just amazing. I loved his accent and was one of his better characters he has potrayed in a film. I highly recommend this film, and it was also considered one of the top independent films of this year. I believe it was actually rated #1.
