An 85% tomatometer? What the fuck? This movie was awful. I like Ferrell in the others things I've seen him in, but nothing he did could save this crap. I barrely laughed. And when I did, I hated myself for it. It was usually just some same overused slapstick.
The ending was incredibly cliche. You know, suddenly tons of people believe in Saint Nick and he has enough Christmas mojo to do some good deed. And then the character writes a book about his adventure.
If only I could get back those 95 minutes. D
Now here is a funny Will Ferrell movie. Why? Because he (and lots of other comedians) cut loose and have fun. It is filled with completely hilarious random humour and tons of cameos. Is it perfect? No. Is it stupid? Yes. It is fun? Heck yeah. B+
The Producers (2005)
I've never seen the play, so I can't compare it in anyway. But I certainly I enjoyed this very much. I was laughing all the way through it. Thurman was surprisingly excellent. Very cheesy, very fun, a straight out Mel Brooks movie. A
