Run, Forrest, Run! This movie has got to be one of the most wonderful movies of all time. The movie is essentially about Forrest Gump who is tells the story to a lady on a park bench. He only has an IQ of 75. So he describes things the way they went. He doesn't provide any criticism for things. He just tells his story. Forrest grows up with braces on his feet, but that only makes him faster and better. He goes to Vietnam, and comes out more dignified and more honorable. Every event he is thrown into, Forrest just takes it and goes. The only problem is the one thing he really wants: to be with Jenny. Jenny likes Forrest, but seems more interested in herself and with going against the norm. Forrest doesn't seem to mind so much for the most part until she leaves him after conceiving a child together. Then he goes on a running spree. And he runs and runs and keeps on running. Forrest Gump is not only a good history lesson through the eyes of a simple man, but it is also a loves story. One that just grabs you, and doesn't let go. It is wonderfully directed by Robert Zimeckis, and acted well by Tom Hanks, Sally Field, Robin Wright, and Gary Sinise. Kudos to all involved in the making of this film. It's not something Hollywood would generally do, and for that the world is better for having it.
