This film may have a somewhat dodgy subject matter and on paper the script provokes dark and disturbing thoughts about the global threat of terrorism, therefore it is no real surprise that the concept of watching a bunch of Muslim suicide bombers planning to obliterate the Western world into smithereens doesn't appeal to many.
However the films brilliance stems from Chris Morris's talent for using a combination of satire and slapstick humour to embody Muslim extremist subculture. The tone and pace of the film carry it all the way to a poignant ending where you find yourself rendered speechless and shell-shocked at the thought of actually feeling a moment of compassion and sympathy for a bunch of wacky right wing extremists. Four Lions will have you in hysterics from start to finish, a fine piece of modern satire, Chris Morris is indicative of why British Film is so great, it takes risks!
