Flags of our Fathers
When I was watching this movie all I could think about was Windtalkers. Maybe it was because Adam Beach is the worst actor in the history of acting. That's probably it. I swear to God if I have to see him try to cry one more time I'll throw up. His best acting came when he was stumbling around drunk not talking. Overall this was a pretty disappointing movie. The only scene worth remembering is when Phillipe's character(the doctor) goes into that cave and finds Ziggy. In between the booms of grenades he clicks a flashlight on and off. It was pretty rhythmic and a great scene. I hope Letters from Iwo Jima doesn't fail me.
Jet Li's: Fearless
I guess it's the week for hammy acting. I think I've seen one Asian film that had worse acting than this; Samurai Fiction. That's not something to be proud of. In primo Jet Li fashion we get a lot of great action scenes, but character development is kept on the down-low. I think the only character I actually liked was Jinsun(sp?): Huo's best friend. Huo is a complete jerk for most of the movie and Jinsun does nothing but help him along. He does his homework for him when they're kids, doesn't make him pay his tab at the tavern, even gives him money to enter a tournament. I wish I had friends like that. The best fight takes place on top of a platform about 35 feet in the air. It's all kinds of badass.
