I absolutely agree. Zodiac really shows off Fincher's directing chops. I knew the story beforehand, but I still desperately followed the detectives at each turn hoping for the best. The largest complaint I've seen for this film is its runtime. But I think Zodiac's length aids to flesh out the decades that passed as the killer remained at large. A great review. The Thing and The Shining are the two greatest horror movies ever made in my opinion. If you loved the effects in this movie, you should really check out the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, if you haven't already. They have very similar effects. Also, sorry to see you didn't like the original Assault on Precinct 13. I think it's also one of Carpenter's best. 0 Replies | Report Abuse
I adore the Shining as well. Truth be told, I have oodles of respect for Kubrick (I keep going back and forth on whether he's my favorite director).
