I haven't posted in my journal for over 6 months, and over the last year I posted infrequentenly in the forums. It looks like I'm coming back a bit.
Either way Last movie I saw in the theater : ![]() Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (Tim Burton, 2005) I absolutely adore the Gene Wilder version. It's one of my childhood favourite films. I read the book when I was about about 9 or 10 and can't really remember it anymore, all my memories from this story come from the 1971 film. I'm also a Burton-freak (yes, POTA expected). So when I heard that Tim Burton was making this remake I really didn't know what to think of it. Would this film shatter my childhood memories with a much better verion or would I hate this film 'cause of my love for the original. The answer was in the middle. Something which rarely happens to me. I love both films, but if I'm gonna compare them, there are thing in "Willy Wonka" I love more than in "Charlie" and vise versa. They are both loveable films. 7.5/10 |

I haven't posted in my journal for over half a year.
I'll try to fix it and keep track of every film I'll in the cinema this year. Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events ![]() Yesterday, I saw Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events for the second time a liked it a bit better than my first viewing. I love/like the design, cinematography and overall atmosphere of the film, but I absolutely hate that over-the-top performance by Jim Carrey. 6/10 The Story Of The Weeping Camel ![]() And this evening I saw The Story Of The Weeping Camel. It's really a beautiful documentary set in the Gobi desert, Mongolia. It tells the story of a young camel, born on-screen, which gets rejected by his mother. The nomadic family of camel shepards call in the help of a musician to ease the mother. Yes, it's slow, but oh so gorgeous to look at. 7.5/10 |

It's alright Ralph, its certainly understandable given how busy things can get sometimes. I'll certainly be checking in. :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Thanks. :) BTW, I posted this command too soon, it has been edited. 0 Replies | Report Abuse It's alright Ralph, its certainly understandable given how busy things can get sometimes. Carrey was the only thing that made it bearable. But, oddly, I still agree with you that if the other aspects of this film had been upped a bit and Carrey's outlandish bits were more fine tuned this could've been a winner like Harry Potter or something. The little child was the best thing about it along with the nice sets. But even that wore thin after a bit. 0 Replies | Report Abuse You should post more! I was forced to see LS.
